@davidrevoy I'm new to the fedeverse and since the Blackout at Reddit. I'm really gald i found this place and will be making it my home. I moderate 3 subs on Reddit and have made 1 of them on lemmy.world. I wanted to read up more on the fedeverse and found https://joinfediverse.wiki and then found your picture https://joinfediverse.wiki/File:Dbcad5625ceabdfb.jpg and your Bio. Just wanted to send a shout out and say thanks for everything
e3: I can't find any support or help communties for lemmy.world anywhere. Those subs i pointed to should give you a general feel or idea on what's going on. I think you just ask the question
@ulu_mulu True. There needs to be a user friendly community. I don't know why somebody hasn't created one yet. I've only been here since June 12th cause of the blackout but i'm here to stay.
e: I admit reddit had r/help and r/newreddit
That's what i'm gonna miss about Reddit. I've been on reddit 6 years I still get stumped and got to ask questions in r/help
@ulu_mulu Yep. I'm that type of person though, if I do something and really like it i will research it as much as I can so I have no question that i'm doing something. Like a self validation thing. Have you seen this yet https://joinfediverse.wiki/ I just found it. I'm blown away how big the fedeverse is compared to what we know how. I didn't even know it existed until the blackout on Reddit
@_I_@Graphine@Taywub Lemmy.world is so popular now and got so many users. New users need to find other instances so the load will not be squarely on lemmy.world
@TwinTurbo Safari all the way. You can adjust the font and scaling without losing the orginal way the site your visting is on. Love that. currently on android though
@Andreas@sebovzeoueb They new going into this that they would be federated. They waited to get enough people then do stuff like this. People will leave then as there content will get old fast. They will realize like reddit that people want to be able to search and find new content
@dragontamer My bad I didn't know what you meant. I didn't know that they defederated also m people will probably leave beehaw now cause they want to communicate with everyone
@aski3252 I understand after I read the reason why they defedersted. Up to them. I bet people will leave over there also because of that. They where told ehrnt hry come to lemmy that they can see all post and commryfeom every instant. S popular defederates.snd that makes people wonder. Admins have a lot of power. But also ok the flip side Reddit mods can ban people and make the sub private and no one can do anything about it.. I guess it's just life
Because they don't get listed by browse.feddit.de you'll want to browse https://kbin.social/magazines to browse "magazines", which is what they call communities...
@Lemmy@anuckols On Mastodon you can just type in the name and press enter and it finds everyone with that instance. Normally though you would type @name in search and you can find who or what your looking for. Works like that on lemmy
@serfraser@youshouldknow What's happening? Are you on an instance and want to see everyone's comments/post on other indtances? What client are you using? Are you on the website? Are you on desktop ?
@Barack_Ollama@LUHG_HANI I think the browser right now is the safest space for lemmy. until they get the apps out of alpha and into the hands of the people. once you figured out the browser then app's that come will be very easy. On android they have jeroba or whatever it's called but it dosen't have all the features. it's also in the alpha stage. Stay here for a while like a day or so then you will be navigating thru lemmy so easy. Especially on Desktop. Mobile everything is small but usable
If the performance weakness continues for a week or two, the agency would start recommending decreasing spend with Reddit or directing it to other platforms....
@Nogami@Jessica You realize that id you delete your account that has all that content the comments and post will be there but the author will say ,[deleted] nobody will know it came from you only reddit will know
Apologies if this is the wrong place for this. A few subs opened up and were discussing the possibility of extending the blackouts. The majority wanted the blackout to end to keep the influx of content. That was to be expected....
@possiblylinux127@lemmyworld They probably would but are in fear of getting banned or muted or worse. I think people don't care anymore and post to lemmy and other instances
@Puffymumpkins@Fizz You might just have to search for guineapigs@lemmy.tf I tried the link it worked on the website but not on my instance. I do see it, it has 4 followers
Are some instances/communities closed off from others?
Still trying to get my bearings here....
Community moderation policy
Hey there lemmings!...

Which browser do you use on iOS?
What is your favourite browser for iPhone or iPad? What features make it your top choice?
what does it mean that Beehaw "defederated" from lemmy.world?
I thought I understood, but I still have Beehaw content in my feed, so I guess I don't understand after all... Can someone dumb it down for me?
Beehaw defederating effective immediately from lemmy.world and sh.itjust.works (beehaw.org)
YSK that kbin.social is now federating, adding hundreds of communities and ~26k more users content
Because they don't get listed by browse.feddit.de you'll want to browse https://kbin.social/magazines to browse "magazines", which is what they call communities...
I just hopped on today and the site is very unusable right now
EDIT: it seems that this is a known bug and will be fixed in the next release! Thank you guys for letting me know...
The blackout is starting to have a financial impact on Reddit, but we must stay dark! (www.adweek.com)

Disconcerting responses on Reddit over blackout

Anyone here wanting to join a sub similar to a Reddit one, but it's not here and you don't want to make it because you don't wanna be in charge?
Yeah, sorry about the run-on sentence title, but I hope you get what I'm saying
