I contacted the reporter via her website, to ask what motivated the story when the Guardian just wrote about them last year, and if the couple's PR rep (who I assume exists) had instigated it.

I don't really expect to hear back but it sure would be interesting to know.

Underpaid artists in China and India "repainting" or "touching up” or "customizing” the images, like those mass-produced Thomas Kinkade prints that would have a few highlight dabs painted on by hand by someone.

Then, I assume, the AI-generated part would be protected the same way a Photoshop-generated background gradient would be as part of a completed image.

2.5 hours is a bit of a slog but Olson’s videos are sufficiently entertaining and well-edited to make it work. He cites videos enough to make it worthwhile to present as a video.

Also, speaking for myself, his videos tend not to be the sort of topics where I would want to reference specific parts later, where a text version would be better.

I do wish some of the cited tweets and forum posts were easier to read in the video.
