    For Transgender Awareness Week, I like to do a series of mini-trans-science thingies, and I try to do them themed. Like, last year, I covered some trans scientific mysteries. This year, I want to make it a reader request series--so, science and philosophy questions you all have.

    @Impossible_PhD Definitely more of a philosophy question: are we the same people before and after transition? I tell my kids yes because the idea of a new person scares them, but the more I live as myself the less I’m sure that was strictly true. Obviously there’s a continuity with who I was before but does that mean I’m necessarily the same person?

    @KrissyKat It’s even more insane than that. The spot he raised this was is in granting the doctors who brought the suit standing. So it’s an β€œaesthetic injury” to the doctors because they don’t get to deliver cute babies.

    The analogous case would be granting people around you the right to sue if you transitioned and and didn’t turn out cute enough.

    Ho is utterly deranged.
