    I am delighted to inform you that I just got called an "Atheism+ feminist" in a comment on a video I posted yesterday.

    The fact that over ten years ago a small group of atheists suggested that we should address the misogyny, racism, Islamophobia, and queerphobia that was rampant in our community, and some assholes are STILL MAD ABOUT IT, warms my heart.

    My weekend itinerary starting tomorrow: home -> car -> local train -> overnight train -> hotel -> Uber -> company holiday party -> Uber -> hotel -> subway -> airplane -> car -> home.

    I have definitely made this more complicated than it needed to be. 🤦‍♀️

    Made it on board my overnight train to the east coast! We just started rolling down the tracks heading south out of Chicago a few moments ago.

    I have a cozy little “roomette” which is basically a closet with two seats that fold down into a bed. But I’ll be horizontal for sleep and it has a locking door so worth it.

    Just got my first ever mani/pedi ahead of a company holiday party.

    Takeaways:

    Gonna have to learn how to use my phone’s touchscreen all over again with these extensions.

    Pedicures are no joke. I knew my toe nails weren’t in great condition but ouch!

    Please please please universe let these survive until Saturday. 🙏

    I was just thinking about the first time I got gendered correctly by a stranger.

    I had just come out publicly, and we scheduled a family trip at the Oregon Coast just after, so we could decompress as a family. We had been driving for too long, the whole family was grumpy, and.my wife and I were fighting about something stupid. We stopped for gas, and when the attendant came back with our receipt (because you couldn't pump your own gas in Oregon, until a few months ago) he handed it to me and said "Have a good day ma'am."

    After he walked away, I am pretty sure I said something to my wife like "Honey, I know we are mad at each other about something petty, and we can get back to that, but he did just call me ma'am, right?" ☺️

    Thankfully that snapped us out of our funk. That and making a plan to get food.

    So the moral of the story, gender people correctly, you might help their marriage. And also, don't forget to eat when you are traveling.

    @risingphoenix The first stranger to gender me correctly was a dog that hates men. I was maybe 3 or 4 weeks into HRT. He took one sniff and decided I wasn’t a threat. He didn’t respond nearly as well to my father standing a short distance away.
