EVs aren't going to save us. The best solution has always been, and will always will be, driving less. We should be massively investing in mass transit.

@thestrangelet @malcircuit EV's aren't perfect but let's not resort to hyperbole. My Nissan Leaf isn't much heavier than the ICE hatchback it replaced. There are a lot of options out there.

    @senders @hotkey Ok then second question: have you tried moving each CB to the off position and then on again? Sometimes when they pop you can’t tell just by looking because they get stuck close to the on position. I once spent literally years thinking a circuit was dead in my house before learning this. Off, on, and it worked.

    I’ve been seeing the same therapist since my egg broke.

    In my last session she asked “And the physical changes… are you ok with how the hormones make you put on fat in your butt and hips?”

    I stared at her like she was from Mars. Could barely even comprehend the question. Like asking “And the breathing air? Is that working out for you?”

    Does transition ever stop feeling surreal? Next month will be the 3 year anniversary of my egg cracking and I still can’t quite wrap my head around the fact that I’m actually doing this.

    Sometimes when I look back at before-times photos I’m stunned by the dead look in my own eyes. I remember feeling tired but that “guy” looks like he was on his last legs. I couldn’t fully understand how much weight I was carrying until I was able to finally set it down.

    Took the day off work for a salon visit. I’m getting color in my hair for the first time ever and am sitting in the chair right now while the stylist preps the color in back. So nervous and excited all at once to see how it turns out. 🤞

    Pretty happy with how it came out. The flashes of red in my peripheral vision are going to take some getting used to. The hue changes a lot based on the light and how my hair falls.

    Trans women early in your transitions: when you look in the mirror consider that you’re seeing the equivalent of a 10-12 year old cis girl. Give yourself all the time and grace to grow up that you would naturally afford her. Judging yourself against grown women is cruel and unfair.

    Ugh women’s clothing sizes are so frustrating. Why am I a medium in some brands and an extra large for others? SMH.

    And while I’m on the subject - could bra manufacturers get together and decide once and for all whether band size equals the under-bust measurement or under-bust plus 4 inches? So unnecessarily confusing.

    I’m having an unreasonably good geeky time at work today. Using nginx to dynamically rewrite a web page via query parameters and publishing the whole thing into AWS Fargate in order to tie two other technologies together at the client side. This is the sort of thing I never got to do at my old job.
