I use "docker buildx build" on a Dockerfile based on the ubuntu:20.04 base image.

It uses RUN with apt install, which fails.

apt is trying to connect via localhost:3142 (the default port for apt-cacher-ng). I have no such thing running on my machine, though no change even if I start a local acng service.

Nothing in the Dockerfile or even in my build host's APT configuration sets Acquire::http:Proxy.

What could be causing it to attempt to connect via that proxy?

@xahteiwi Last time I had a struggle with Proxy Config in Docker I found a

ARG http_proxy=http://x.x.x.x:3128/

in the Dockerfile...

A wave of protests continues in Germany against the activities of far-right forces and the right-wing populist pro-Russian party Alternative for Germany (AfD)

More than 80 protests against right-wing forces were registered across the country over the weekend. According to Tagesschau, the day before, in Potsdam, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Foreign Minister Annalena Bärbock joined the protests.

The shoah gives us a lesson: "Never again" and "Never again" is rigth now!

Habt ihr Tipps für freie Linux-Software zum Reverse-Engineeren von Daten? Ich hab hier nen lowleveligen Blob Zeug mit ein paar Ideen, was es sein könnte, aber wenig Nerv, ihn durch verschiedene Parser zu schicken. Optimal wäre ein Tool, das zig Formate (er)kennt, aber alternativ nehm ich auch nen umfangreich ausgestatteten Hex-Editor, in den ich schnell eigene Decoder reinhacken kann, oder zumindest geratene Bedeutungen für einzelne Bits notieren & anwenden könnte. Decompiler brauch ich nicht.

The only question I have: what do you do with logs on stdout/stderr the containers tent to generate?

    Adding to my bio as it is the only way to use dates without any ambiguity. yyyy-mm-dd. Simple. Makes sorting possible and reliable. Yoda style Ah, date is month day year should be made a global crime IMHO ;)

    @jwildeboer That reminds me of @xahteiwi fine blog article: https://xahteiwi.eu/blog/2023/02/10/brown-mms/#brown-mms Using ISO8601 for dates is inconvenient but clearly very helpful (and most of the time the Timestamp get generated by my editor).
    For UTC usage I am not fully convinced...

    @wonka @isotopp Je nach System design werden auch Kältemaschinen zum kÜhlen verwendeten, haufig als zweite stufe aber auch das Klimagas muss die Wärme irgendwie loswerden.wenn das Kühlsystem dann nicht für die Außentemperaturen die wir aktuell sehen ausgelegt ist hast du ein großes Problem....

    "Der Markt regelt das" sagen eigentlich nur diejenigen, die genug haben, daß man einfach zahlt. "Der Markt regelt" zwingt immer nur die nicht-Reichen zu (teilweise eingreifenden) Veränderungen. "Der Markt regelt" ist der Kampfschrei derjenigen, die sich vor Konsequenzen nicht fürchten müssen (oder das glauben). Mit diesen Menschen, die "Der Markt regelt" brüllen lässt sich keine Zukunft gestalten. Wer "Der Markt regelt" sagt, glaubt sich freikaufen zu können.

    @jwildeboer das ist im Endeffekt eine Art von Recht des Stärkeren, also in dem Fall dem wirtschaftlich stärkeren. und bei dem einen oder anderen habe ich den Eindruck das "der freie Markt" die neue Religion geworden ist.
