I am looking to make some last minute purchases to play with one or more friends, and I have poked around Steam’s Co-Op page. I’m curious what new co-op games everyone on Lemmy is playing....
The CEO claimed it’s because the USB C port can withstand more than the 3.5mm so it’s more sustainable to use that. I honestly don’t buy that argument because now you’re putting all of that load from 2 ports into 1. Also, if they were truly Fairphone, I should be able to buy a replacement headphone jack if it does break.
I think he eventually admitted it was a mistake, but it turned from a definite purchase to a zero for me.

I’m glad they mentioned rectangle, I found that app amazing. I have however upgraded to Amethyst for my app tiling though.
I’m a dev, so if I’m not doing .NET development. I found windows quite limiting. The new terminal stuff is nice but it’s native on a mac. I’m not sure about Docker because that really spins the fans on my 16 Intel Pro.
Also, things like Spaces and virtual desktops have been pretty sweet for a long time now. Windows, I can’t recall but it’s been a horribly broken PowerToy for so long. I can’t believe people were to recommending it. I think some people were telling me it’s native now, but like, it’s crazy how it wasn’t done properly years ago.

The landed gentry are only in charge until the king comes to town and chops off a few heads. For June 20 and 21, the most recent days for which Similarweb has estimates, the ads site got in the range of 7,500 to 9,000 visits, Carr explained, meaning that ad-buying traffic has continued to drop.
I’m glad Reddit is feeling something from this, however, at the same time. I kinda don’t care. It’s a shame it went the way that it did. But spez can’t take back his terrible attitude and decision making on what happened. Most people were sympathetic and wanting Reddit to be profitable and rooting for Reddit. However, spez just decided to come out swinging from nowhere hitting his allies in the face.
On a serious note, I love cooking and washing and cleaning. I’m not staring at a screen and the objective is clear.
I’m not contemplating whether this is worth my time or stressed about other things. Although, I don’t cook for many people so I guess my outlook would be different in those cases.
I hated working with rockstars. Most of the time they’re just competent developers that got in there early with a high ambition but given too much power with a bad attitude.
I’m stereotyping obviously. I’ve worked with some absolutely devs and far better than me, but were never described as Rockstars.
I remember this one and he would always ask to be on the hard projects. He’d waste a shit load of time. Whine about the project. Do only what he wants to do. Gets the juniors to do the parts he hates (writing tests). Writes no docs or does no handover and then f&s off to the next project.
I remember trying to get one to help me with a caching issue because they implemented the cache. I was told not to bother them because he’s working on “feature” work and can’t spend time on bugs.
I’m so glad that in general, places have matured as a whole.
There was a good podcast about the first amendment by NPR. They talked about how it was never intended to mean what we think it does. Mostly about having to charge for the press. Even at the time, people were protesting the war and judges were putting them in jail despite the first amendment.
The thing is that most people assume that the truth will always come through. I think we’ve seen over the years that that’s not the case. The first amendment is and should be an eternal debate about what’s true and what’s acceptable.
