When you uninstall a Unity game and reinstall it, that's called a cross counter, and it causes the distributor to be charged twice as much money.

This is common knowledge in the game development world.

🐈 The game was updated to add a Hint Book!

It was interesting to experiment with releasing it without any information. But I think that works better when a game has a large community that discusses it.

Now players can look at hints and then keep discovering the worlds on their own.

🐈 A new work is almost ready.

It's created by Sylvie and Aria together.

Difficulty is likely 10 or a high 9 on default settings due to hidden information and highly precise platforming. But there are also a lot of fun options to try that are easier.

I need to play through it to test for bugs and then I can release it.

Anybody ever tried enabling the ssh server on Windows 10 (Pro)? Were there any gotchas? Do you just get a CMD.exe "DOS prompt" or what?

@mcc if you have WSL installed, you can set it up to give you a WSL bash prompt, which is how i've always used it, but there was a gotcha: if you install the "Windows Store" version of WSL, which is easy to do by accident, SSHing in simply does not work. i followed the instructions here to get it working but i don't know if they're still accurate: https://superuser.com/questions/1714736/cannot-run-wsl2-over-ssh-on-windows-11

if you're fine with cmd or powershell, it might be more straightforward....

@mcc unfortunately it sounds like the issue i linked to might happen even if you log in with a different shell and then run wsl.exe (vs. setting WSL bash as your default shell) but i'm not sure.... if it happens then i think you have to downgrade to a "non Windows Store" version of WSL

I follow this strict rule on Letterboxd where I rate a movie three stars if I liked it. Four stars only if I really liked it, loved it. Five stars only if I loved it so much I would call it an all-time favorite. (Two stars is for a movie that I didn't dislike but wasn't satisfied with; one star only for movies I actually disliked. Out of 980 logged movies I only have seventeen 1s)

This makes me feel kind of guilty on those occasions I happen to watch a movie I liked, but which is obscure.

@mcc 🌸 someone rated my visual novel 6/10 on vndb (which is currently the only rating for it) but on closer inspection i found out that they only ever rate things 1, 6, or 10, presumably for something like "disliked, liked, all-time favourites", and they actually thought it was great

🐈 i got my copy of HFTGOOM by @taylormccue !

the cartridge is really pretty and has a holographic effect....

it came with two booklets and a cover insert that fits nicely into a ds or 3ds case!

@mcc i don't know why the game wouldn't detect the code so maybe your keyboard doesn't like you holding three arrow keys at once.... i am about to update the game to tweak some levels so i think i'll make it so you can also just press "R"
