lps2,

You described most CA laws - don’t get me started on CARB and how is just pushing us toward bigger, less efficient cars while killing innovation by smaller engineering shops

lps2,

I wouldn’t say no one is paying attention. Rather, we learned that 40% of the country agrees with that language and actively wants a violent dictator

US destroyer has ballistic missiles fired toward it, after responding to attack on commercial tanker (www.cnn.com)

Two ballistic missiles were fired from Houthi rebel-controlled Yemen toward a US warship in the Gulf of Aden, after the US Navy responded to a distress call from a commercial tanker that had been seized by armed individuals, the US military said Sunday....

lps2,

This is about Saudi Arabia and Iran’s proxy war in Yemen, not Israel

lps2,

Not having an insta isn’t weird or what turned her off - being fucking creepy and weird about it then lying is what turned her off… Jesus

Being active on a social network is not the same as having a social life - meet people, make friends, and make an effort to reach out to them. THAT’s having a social life

lps2,

Time to use old school web scrapers and remind Elon why most companies provide API access to info that is otherwise available on their browser applications

lps2,

Hmmm, we have a company who’s success has been largely due to it’s large network of developers and the outgoing CEO tried to destroy that community… Who should replace them? Oh, I know, someone who took another company who’s success was based on a large network of developers and successfully killed that community

lps2,

Which I get - I’m starting the candidate gathering stage for a fairly senior role and the pool of candidates I have to choose from is already quite small given the requirements and niche product and of course I am going to defer to those I have worked with in the past as I know what they can do. I just find it funny that when faced with a very specific issue that unity picked someone who has a track record of fumbling that exact issue

lps2,

Yeah, it started when Russia invaded in 2014

lps2,

All Republicans have to do is propose policies that actually appeal to the masses and they too can win democratically rather than through gerrymandering and electoral shenanigans

Anheuser-Busch Says It Has Stopped Amputating Tails of Budweiser Clydesdales (www.nytimes.com)

Facing pressure from animal rights activists, Anheuser-Busch announced on Wednesday that it had ended the practice of amputating the tails of its Budweiser Clydesdales, the familiar equine figures in the brewing company’s advertising campaigns for nearly a century....

lps2,

From a quick Google search, docking is done to prevent injury to the stallion in mating and is thought to increase the frequency/ desire for the stallion to mate. There are, of course, more humane ways of accomplishing this but that’s the historical justification for the practice

lps2,

The first half of the first page is all ads now on Google. It’s utter shit - the things it’s a lot better at than DDG is NLP, being able to understand questions, and anything news related. If you know exactly what you’re searching for though, using the old style of search words works great on DDG

lps2,

“We’re sorry you feel that way” but in corporate

lps2,

Lol, and we are to believe BRICS is an actual threat to the west and to USD dominance?

lps2,

The man is an enemy of the west and should be treated as such

lps2,

Also, assuming this is the same one that gets posted constantly, it was a joint project between the two countries

lps2,

From the company slashing staff and rate limiting APIs to save money comes: the most expensive content to host

lps2,

What sanctions aren’t politically motivated? They are inherently political in nature

Wife's boss is on a power trip. Is this legal?

My wife works in a restaurant, and the power-tripping manager has instituted a new policy where all shift changes must be approved by management. I think that is reasonable enough, but they’re also asking the originally-scheduled employee why they are switching shifts, then approving or denying based on the answer....

lps2,

As a manager, I don’t give a flying fuck why my team wants to take time off. Wanna sit on your ass and play video games for a week straight, cool all good by me : just let me know the dates, check their PTO balance, and ensure it doesn’t conflict with key deliverables and if so either work out a plan for coverage or suggest they look for a different time to take off if possible

lps2,

Lol, not only is it not in Russia but in Russian occupied Ukraine it’s also not terrorism, it’s war

lps2,

Exactly - also, cars are a symptom of a lack of urban planning but with remote work on the rise, car emissions will fall. I am hopeful that more communities will rise as a result as people live and work in the same place and get personal time back to invest in their surroundings

lps2,

Yes please, "Christian values" are absolute rubbish and the sooner they fade into oblivion the better. Also, in no way does pride month destroy anyone's ability to have a "traditional family" by any definition.
