This evening we went round to good friends for food and stupid action movie. The food was great and the action movie was very stupid. We watched The Beekeeper with Jason Statham. It’s terrible but had explosions and loads of fight scenes which ticked all the boxes.
Have been feeling sorry for myself since last week as have been very unwell. Saw a Dr and I have a viral upper respiratory tract infection (cough) AND pharyngitis (strep throat) at the same time. Joy oh joy. Have antibiotics and a week off work.
I seem to have forgotten I’m middle aged and have tickets to a club night tonight that starts at 11pm. I’m usually in bed by then so am trying to work out how to stay up!
Once a week when I’m working from home I try to squeeze a lunchtime sauna in. There’s a lovely beach sauna a couple of miles away in Shoreham I go to. Went today and ended up sitting next to Ben Fogle! He was perfectly charming as you’d expect. (If you don’t know who he is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Fogle ) Turns out he loves a sauna and goes whenever he can.
Early morning dip in the sea today but low tide meant a lot of walking out to get any depth. So cold it felt like it was burning which is just the way I like it.
Morning Fedizens. Eldest child turns 18 today and I’m still in shock this is possible. Let her have a party last night and thankfully it was all fine (no gatecrashers or damage).
I’m #CurrentlyReading Small Pleasures by Clare Chambers and enjoying it. Was pleasantly surprised that the main character grew up in the area I did though the book isn’t set there. Only halfway through so fingers crossed I enjoy it to the end. @bookstodon
Blimey, Storm Ciarán hit here last night and we had 60mph winds off the sea and torrential rain. Still the milkman managed to deliver milk this morning! What a hero/nutter
