I usually like checking against @MirrorAyako before posting, but I'll be stepping out for awhile, and I'd rather do it from a computer than a cell. If there's an error, let me know, and MirrorAyako's list takes precedence over mine.

It could go either way. Someone around here postulated they were proto changlings. That's pretty interesting. There's other cool ways to spin it, and lame ways also of course. Like all this stuff, I think "Ok, now what?". I hope what they come up with outweighs the fun mystery of the Breen.

lxskllr,
@lxskllr@mastodon.world avatar

@ValueSubtracted

Heh... Yea, I forgot about that. Trek isn't always the best at consistency, or perfect logic. They could still pretend that never happened, or give some hand wavy explanation for why Kira and Dukat never mentioned what they look like.

It's out there now. I guess we'll see where it goes. I'm not upset. There's been worse design decisions in the franchise :^)

@Son_of_dad

I've only yelled at my screen once, so that's a big improvement over previous seasons.

So, y'all @allstartrek folks got me watching Enterprise, and so far S1 is pretty decent. Not the song though, it's still 💩. I remember Berman and Braga saying they hated it too on The Center Seat, and I almost shouted to my TV "you were the show runners, the song doesn't happen without your ok'ing it!".

lxskllr,
@lxskllr@mastodon.world avatar

@socprof @allstartrek

It has it's ups and downs(more than the other Trek of the era), but it's a solid series that was cancelled too early.

I am going to be watching "Cold Fire" with if anyone is up this late on a Sunday. I always skip this one. Although Gary Graham is wonderful as Soval in , his one-time role here as Tanis in is awful, imho. Still, I really need a rewatch. As I said I always skip this one on my Voyager rewatches. @allstartrek

lxskllr,
@lxskllr@mastodon.world avatar

@richard @allstartrek

I don't really remember s01-s03 Voyager; Just snapshots really. I just finished DS9, and am currently idling and taking a break from video. I was debating between Voyager and Enterprise next. Last time I went in order, then after Enterprise, watched s04-s07 Voyager again for more Seven :^D I'm thinking ENT-VOY, then the next time through I'll go in broadcast order for the whole franchise.

I don't skip anything. Even the kinda lame episodes have /something/ to offer.

Rewatching Prodigy on Netflix. Even better the second tome around. @allstartrek

lxskllr,
@lxskllr@mastodon.world avatar

@socprof @allstartrek

I'm hoping Prodigy can manage to keep going after S02. Is that in the realm of possibility? While I don't have young kids anymore to know what they think, it seems like the kind of show the whole family can get something out of. I for sure enjoyed it, and I'm older than dirt :^D

lxskllr,
@lxskllr@mastodon.world avatar

@socprof @allstartrek

It was. S01 aired, and when dropped, S02 was complete for all intents and purposes. That's why I'm wondering about further seasons. Maybe if S02 is popular enough, someone will commit to funding more. I don't know what's going on behind the scenes, if people want to keep making it, and/or if there's interest from networks in funding it.

This Voyager episode is a classic reason why you have to separate the art from the artist.

Manu Intiraymi? I've heard some stuff. I generally avoid looking up actor's personal lives. I don't see a path to enjoyment by doing so. It has a decent likelihood of diminishing my enjoyment of their performance(unfairly of course), and for Trek in particular, how could an actor live up to the character they played? Almost everyone is exceptional, and it's too much to ask an actor to live up to the character they played.

You should ask for a rebate cause your room's defective.

(watching TNG's "Contagion")

Tonight's fun fact: Carolyn Seymour guest starred as Romulan Commander Taris. She would return to guest starred several more times in the franchise as Mirasta Yale (TNG's "First Contact"), Romulan Commander Toreth in TNG's "Face of the Enemy" and Mrs. Templeton on VOY.

I just watched Face of the Enemy tonight. That was a good one. I liked seeing Troi being a hardass.

It's all good. That's the beauty of text. Makes it easy to time travel. Just like Trek!

No one picks on Data and gets away with it!

TOS (8ET): Bread and Circuses
TNG (9ET): Measure of a Man
DS9 (10ET): Heart of Stone
VOY (11ET): Course Oblivion
ENT (midnight): Bound

lxskllr,
@lxskllr@mastodon.world avatar

@MirrorAyako @allstartrek

There's a couple good ones there. Measure of a Man is a Trek greatest hit, and Course Oblivion makes the weird "prequel" earn it's place in the lineup.

lxskllr,
@lxskllr@mastodon.world avatar

@MirrorAyako @allstartrek

I don't comment much on the DS9 stuff, cause I have very little memory of it. That'll be the next series I start; probably in Feb. I'm looking forward to it.

I thought it was great when I was watching; maybe even a contender to knock TNG out of first place. It definitely has the best title theme.

Tonight’s TNG is probably my favorite Riker episode. He holds his own with the Klingons!

TOS (8ET): The Ultimate Computer
TNG (9ET): A Matter of Honor
DS9 (10ET): Life Support
VOY (11ET): The Disease
ENT (midnight): Divergence, Part 2

lxskllr,
@lxskllr@mastodon.world avatar

@MirrorAyako @allstartrek

Yea, this is a good one. It's one of my favorite "average" TNG episodes(eg. not Measure of a Man or Inner Light). Just a really solid episode of Trek, and a good example what makes the franchise great.

I really liked prune juice as a kid. I haven't had it in decades, and don't really remember seeing it stores, though I haven't looked either. I should try to hunt some down and see what I think these days.

Side note... Prunes are dried plums. Where's the juice come from?!

I always wondered how aliens from a far away planet got a hold of the US Constitution and Flag. If anyone knows, please reply with answers.

TOS (8ET): The Omega Glory
TNG (9ET): Unnatural Selection
DS9 (10ET): Past Tense, Part 2
VOY (11ET): Dark Frontier, Part 2
ENT (midnight): Affliction, Part 1

lxskllr,

I think the idea was parallel worlds developing almost identically. IOW, their Constitution was an original work by them, but it closely matched Earth's.

Pretty TwilightZoney, and kind of schlocky imo. It's just a bit /much/

lxskllr,
@lxskllr@mastodon.world avatar

@MirrorAyako @allstartrek

Wikipedia says this...

Spock then conjectures that the history of Omega IV had closely paralleled that of Earth until the former was devastated by a biological war that Earth had avoided.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Omega_Glory

I think they were highly developed, then devolved after the war, forgetting the knowledge they accumulated. 'Bombed back to the stone age' as it were.

One of the most dramatic death scenes in all of Trek.

TOS (8ET): Patterns of Force
TNG (9ET): Loud as a Whisper
DS9 (10ET): Fascination
VOY (11ET): Bliss
ENT (midnight): United, Part 2

I believe Mastodon is case insensitive, but I read somewhere CamelCase is preferred by the seeing impaired cause it works better with screen readers.
