Every single person I speak with about the iOS keyboard says it’s becoming unusable – and thought they were the only one having issues. I’m talking, like, twelve professionals I’ve asked about it who have ranted about this like they are coming up for air.

Even typing this post was incredibly annoying. Why is this happening and why is nobody covering it??

@ryanhoulihan New keyboard uses a locally trained ML model IIRC, perhaps it’s a matter of time. I don’t really know and I agree with you that it sucks to have such a vital feature of your mobile OS not working correctly. 😕

How has the end of third-party apps like Apollo affected your Reddit usage?

For me: I've used Reddit less than 5 times since Apollo went dead on July 1.

I am starting the installation of Mastodon v4.1.3 for everyone on Masto.host now.

During the upgrade there will be around 30 seconds of downtime.

Every WWDC from here on in I'll be looking at from the perspective of ‘can you make better apps with SwiftUI vs not-SwiftUI?’. The answer right now is 'no’, not for the apps I want to build and the platforms I want to build them for, but boy would it sure be nice to say yes and start using more of AppKit in my cross-platform apps. I’m happy to flip my codebases all at once if that time ever comes, but just as happy to stick to the lower-level, more-powerful frameworks if that option remains best

@stroughtonsmith These days I must admit I have been writing a lot more SwiftUI code than UIKit. For many kindle of apps I think it’s enough. But the ability to combine both is even better.

Será sesgo, pero yo a estas alturas de la vida no termino de entender cómo se puede decir que Mastodon es difícil de usar. Si es que son tres conceptos más que Twitter.

En todo caso se puede buscar un onboarding de “encuentra tu instancia ideal” y de “puedes seguir a estas personas” (cada instancia podría por ejemplo tener un listado de recomendados).

I made an app for myself that I wanted to have for a long time: something to mark on a calendar on which days I went running or rode a bike 🏃🏻‍♂️🚴🏻‍♂️ I sat down yesterday and built an MVP in one evening, took me about 4 hours with 🙂
