Okay, Zima Board here and set up. Planned on putting Proxmox on it, but forgot that Proxmox doesn't like emmc storage. May still do that once I hook up an SSD, but we'll see. For now, running Ubuntu Server. Going to tinker with it.

I'm thinking Pihole and maybe opnsense.

@thelinuxcast I'd advice you to look at the Adguard project, I really like the pi hole project but it requires much more dependendencies vs Adguard. If you planning on keeping this Ubuntu server around for a while it might be worth checking out alternatives.

Tooting into space here, hello 👋

I'm 30 year old programmer from the Netherlands. I fiddle with hardware, mostly keyboards and I'm finding my way back into .

Besides this I'm pretty active by doing swimming, bouldering and playing padel. Interested in going to and .

Never really got into Twitter but Mastodon seems more like my thing, don't be shy to connect and I will do the same

Starting my home lab has been amazing. Yes, I've had stumbles, but that has been a part of the experience. It's been a lot like when I first switched to . Everything is new and exciting again.

@michael @thelinuxcast genuine question but how much resources do you utilize on your homelab? I've started with a hp proliant microserver, went to a Pi and now using a NUC (in the span of 10 years haha).

Even with throwing every service I can imagine at it, it never exceeds 10% overall resources

@thelinuxcast interesting, I'm not doing virtualization at the moment but still host a lot of services. Which services eat up most resources? Currently my new Mastodon federation is pretty busy
