It’s taken way too much time to get this set up, but I can finally play Eternal Darkness again! Short of re-buying a , which I do not have the room for, this is the next best thing: a modded with Nintendont and a GCN controller via the Mayflash adapter.

I own the disc but you can’t rip the tiny GCN discs using the Wii U, so I downloaded the iso file. Forced widescreen and 480p, emulated memory card slot all running off the microSD card!

@BlueBlasphemy there are accelerator MX in D4 too, which do affect gameplay. I think it’s particularly scummy to offer so much freemium-style content in a $70 game. I totally accept the concept in games that are free at the point of entry, like Overwatch or Fortnite. @lukem

@BlueBlasphemy yeah that’s it. I’m not against season/battle passes as a concept but they have to be handled well. And when you’re spending £70 on a game it had better have that much value before you even get to the seasons part. @lukem

I AM SO HAPPY!!! I just found out how to enable macOS' UI scaling on my 3440x1440 display. Finally I can scale things up a little (I'm old and my eyes are tired) without macOS switching to a non-native resolution.

I didn't even think this was possible. SHIT YES IT IS <3

@hmans oh please elaborate. I use MacOS with my 5160x1440 display. I’ve got the taskbar at max size.

@devxvda then 100% yes. You have bought it once and paid the author, it’s fine. Unsurprisingly I don’t care about the publishers’ server/hosting costs or rights surrounding ebooks. They also treat libraries terribly.

I will also say the same about video games. I own a physical copy of Eternal Darkness on the GameCube, but I have nothing to play it on and it’s never been remade. I downloaded an iso file of the game to play on my modded Wii U, and I am perfectly comfortable with that. 😂

@nixCraft I used to work in desktop support and honestly…printers were well known as being the Dark Arts. Like, no one knew how to fix them. We just kept pressing buttons, removing and re-adding paper, powered off and back on again…until they worked again. Or replaced them 😂

    My favourite one was one that was all made out of copies of the sprite for the land mines. Surprise explosions!

    Found a little local shop that prides itself on offering quite a few games with lower print runs.
    Pleasantly surprised by this as this is very unusual around these parts.
    The usual comments you get here from shopkeepers while trying to buy games for buying games on certain systems is "you know this won't play on Playstation, right?"
    And, no, I'm not kidding. 😅

    So I decided to support them and bought a couple more games that I missed out on.

    @OutofPrintArchive don’t expect lots of cut scenes though — the story is told through snippets of emails and classical literature quotes from the terminals, discussion with AIs in the game world, plus audio logs from one of the scientists.

    It really gives a sense of loneliness to the whole place, which I loved. @toolbear

    Apparently @ivory doesn’t always notify you to save or delete drafts, which had led me to accrue…437 draft toots. And no way of deleting all at once, so guess what I’ll be doing for the next half an hour

    Just had a little panic as hadn’t seen Billy in hours. Cat flap said he was in, but looked all over the house and couldn’t find him. Eventually noticed this.
