@DJDarren I’ve found this a bigger issue generally. I put on music while I’m working and before I know it the album is finished and I can’t remember anything about it.

So I moved my record and CD player upstairs and now when I put physical music on it tricks my brain into thinking this is the thing I should be focusing on. I wonder if streaming has just relegated music to background fodder.

Incredibly low price for AI The Somnium Files: nirvana Initiative on Switch.

While I haven't played this sequel just yet, I loved the original and is one of the few games that I actually completed over the past couple of years.
It starts off feeling quite clumsy, but soon the story and characters draw you right in and before you know, you're hooked.
Brilliant game, and I heard the sequels is even better!

I’ve started testing out alternatives to as they’re putting their prices up yet again! £20pm for Family plan now. 🙄

I’ve started with as I had a 2-month free trial, but the Windows app is trash. It keeps telling me playback has stopped on another device. It wasn’t playing on another device in the first place. Also songs just randomly stops playing or starts from the beginning again. 🤦‍♂️

Might try and next.

Anyone got any recommendations?

@EighthLayer yeah Apple hasn’t cared about Windows for a long time (arguably ever). I use Cider Classic on Linux and it appears to have a Windows version too. https://cider.sh

It logs you in using the AppleID sign-in process so no data is passed to the developers. I’m astounded at how well it works!

Blow me, kobo have announced colour e-readers, finally.

BUT! I tried one from a different company earlier this year and it sucked. So I’m not sure how this will be different.

@LadyMarth01 @Sobtanian I’ve found that any screen size smaller than, say, 12” is just not big enough to read comics on. Having to constantly pan and zoom to read individual frames is just not a fun experience.

I had a 12.9” iPad which was the perfect size to take in all the detail at full page size, but not e-ink so too much reflection. I think we are a long way off devices like that.

My wife bought me the Taito Edition Super Pocket for my birthday and it’s a lovely little handheld. It has 17 pre-installed games and takes Evercade cartridges.

It literally fits in my pocket and will be great for travelling when I don’t have room for a giant modern handheld!

The same console as the previous image. It is at the game select menu and Puzzle Bobble is selected.

Playing Roboquest at the moment with a friend on PC. It’s a fast-paced, cel-shaded co-op roguelite FPS. Took a while to get its hooks into me but really enjoying it now. There are multiple classes and each run is unique as you get offered different weapons and perks as you go through your run.

There are also new abilities that stay between runs, which means you get further and further as you play, through a combination of learning the enemies & terrain but also with better gear.

@mdmrn they were incredible. It’s Understood, Buck Fever (where Super Buck II is from) and Quadropus are all outstanding albums. Their ability to move between genres fluidly and effortlessly (often within the same song) sets them apart from the rest of the avante garde crowd imo. And they just had the chops to do it too.

21st century “semi-retro” nook coming along. Put up a shelf today which currently has the on it along with a dock below. Plan is to get a , and to go with it.

Need to do a better job of tidying cables too, but that’s for another day.

I'm interested to know. Did anyone else with not realise til after they were diagnosed that they never feel a sense of accomplishment?

I never understood at all why my partner takes photos of DIY projects or stands for ages admiring a flowerbed he's just dug, etc. I guess this also explains why I was rubbish at adding entries to our team blog at my old job. Like, I did the work, it's done. What more needs to be said?
