still fuming about this one, fellow . A Mini Cooper operated by a drunk with past Being An Awful Human charges drove three miles up a "protected" path before slamming into a bollard. The out of state commenters of course blame... the homeless :(

@glassdelusion It sounds like a terrible situation. I've not ever heard of this happening in Seattle, that I can remember, but I cannot imagine why it wouldn't happen here (Seattle): there are lots of stretches of the Burke-Gilman trail without any bollards at all.

Guy I was working with described a call he got for what he thought was "pedal edema" and it turned out to be "penile edema."

They walked in and found a Hispanic guy who described swelling in his "utensils" apparently as the result of them going in through his femoral artery for a cardiac catheterization.

As always, there are things that bother me and things I would change, but for the moment, it's done and I like it a lot.

I have lived most of my life around these little blue-tail skinks (which are actually juvenile five-line skinks). They have been scurrying all over my patio since the weather warmed up, so when I found myself with 4 pieces of lino to use, they offered quick inspiration 😁

@AlgoCompSynth This saddens me. I knew Larry for a short while back in the late 90s. He let me sit in on his graduate seminar on timbre, and I learned a lot from him, and he seemed a very nice person.

Through a comedy of errors while walking my dog through a field today, I wound up falling flat on my back. It didn't help my torn rotator cuff any.

I'm glad nobody else was around because A. it must have looked pretty damn ridiculous, and B. I swore a lot, and loudly.

A dream: I was the U.S. president and I was twenty minutes late for a press conference. I was getting dressed, putting on pajamas and slippers, in a dark place, with heavy shades over the windows. I got to the press conference and most people had left: there were maybe a dozen reporters, each with a microphone in front of them, in a big room. There wasn't a podium, but a table at the front of the
room, and there was a woman sitting at the table, facing the reporters. I sat down at the table, on the side, so the reporters
were all to my right. The woman and I considered switching places but did not. A reporter started their question:"...one would hope that after three years in office, the president would bring a kind of magic to the interview process...", suggesting I did not do this. They kept talking and I formulated my response: I would say that there are lots of kinds of magic, like the magic of seeing a sunset or the magic of spending time with loved ones. But the reporter kept talking on and on and their voice became unintelligible, swallowed up by room reverberation
and feedback in the sound system. Someone stopped them and a sound person made some adjustments to fix the problem;
I tried to chit chat with the sound person about what the problem was.
