are there any fedi front ends that can go in front of mastodon (server side) and replace all the broken ruby code? not saying it's broken for everyone but it's certainly broken for me lol! most important features would be support for sign ups, a moderation panel, oauth support and custom CSS.

i'm using brutaldon rn in my browser but i'm looking for something i can run on my server to replace the mastodon-web service, which is hilariously broken on my end haha

help fixing it would be cool as well :p #fediadmin

Just look at the history of open software protocols that had proprietary software join it, it almost never ends well for the protocol and enables monopolistic behaviors on behalf of the companies that start developing products using that protocol.

Just look at what's happening with Gmail and Google Chrome, or has happened with Internet Explorer.

It took legal action from the highest offices to make the web open again from Internet Explorer's reign, and we probably won't get the same kindness for fedi if Meta starts the Embrace, Extend, Extinguish routine.
