📚 Finally found my pet peeve with Kobo. It was not too easy.

I wish books not purchased from Kobo would sync across devices. Seems like all my previously bought books load with no issues, but do not sync.

I could load them on multiple apps, but reading progress will not update.

@maique I think you can do this with the Kobo using Calibre, but then you’d need to manage Calibre.

@rysiek Thanks for pointing to this thread and WTF. We really do need a strong Mastodon alternative. GTS has been on my watch list for a long time, along with https://github.com/jointakahe/takahe . Really wanted Takahe to make it since it’s the only one that supports multiple domains. Development has really slowed for it however.

Am I crazy, or isn’t there a way to boost a post from another account in Mona? I seem to remember doing it. Long pressing the boost icon triggers that in Ivory, I thought it did the same in Mona.

@maique I don’t remember this, but doubt I used cross account boosting much. This does work with favoriting. I thought maybe it had to do with the combined quote/boost button, UI would be a mess to support multiple accounts in that. You can split the buttons but still no long press.

@passthejoe Even if it was enough(it’s not), it won’t be soon. If you could easily add memory, then this would be less of an issue, but you can’t and selling these locked to 8 gives them a much shortly lifespan. Early e-waste. Ram is cheap and Apple sells memory upgrades at obscene prices. This comes down to greed, that’s it.

As someone who read the 3 Body Problem series and also watched the tv show, I officially declare that the show is good and you’re allowed to like it. The timeline merging is honestly pretty smart for a tv adaption. As well as merging some side plots into main character arcs

Reading a good many takes that one of the reasons wants to join the fediverse, is so they have a way to ban users they don't like, while giving them an escape hatch. To me this means they see the fediverse as a dumping ground for problematic users. They want to offload the admin overhead of these users to us. How are people ok with that?

    @maique Interesting. Here we have similar “hip” sub-brands but they don’t usual give you so much extra and aren’t limited to lower age groups. We do have age gated deals for 55+ but that is usually less money for less things.
