We were challenged to poorly wrap the gift for my brother in law. Inside an Amazon box we added torn pages of a ULINE business catalog, specifically to make the gift not fit. The box is covered with patchy scraps of wrapping paper and more ULINE catalog. The bow is some loose scrunched up ribbon. The card is a label you might use at a butcher shop. 🎁

@beeoproblem I like your duct tape idea. We did mix packing tape (thick) and scotch tape (thin), but you're 100% right, a ring of thick duct tape all around the package would make the gift a huge pain to open (without scissors). 🤣

Ugh, been feeling crap on and off the past month. I've been trying to treat myself, but when I finally found a day with time and energy, the fresh meat I've been buying spoiled. 😭

First it was ground beef, then then it was a lovely pork loin, and today its two large packs of chicken breast I grabbed for meal prep. I did chop and cook them, but the smell is just too peculiar. 😮‍💨

I'm beside myself that it happened yet again.

The wife and I had a good laugh today while I was experimenting with 's. Feeding a complex prompt that analyzes forum posts, it decided that her career in pharmacy is a crime. 🤣

That said is still really good, I just need to find the right approach to make it act consistently. I doubt my problem is math, but it is mixing up numbers (0 is 10 is 0 is...). 🤔

I'd assume GPT-4 will work better, but the point is I'm trying to do stuff without OpenAI.

Right now I'm exploring if my idea is viable (it looks promisimg), then I'll move on to recreating it on and fine tuning.

Every year for the last decade (at least), Canadian Tire has made this "Red Thursday" excuse to sell more things. 🫠

Ahem I did get a good deal on a tap and die set last year...also some drill bits for making large holes... but I'm comically angry thay they keep trying to make Red Thursday a thing. 🫠

cough yeah, I'm still here. 😅

Chillaxing, contemplating the future. The biggest thing on my mind these days is deciding what to do with myself.

Financially I'm not in great shape, and my motivation to keep fighting for to continue is waning. There's so much I love about LD, it's truly an 'ers dream, but it's overwhelming doing and being stuck with every job by default.

If I was to close-up shop, I'm at a loss for what to do instead. What would entertain and fulfill me?

You might think "video games", but some of my worst habits came out of working in video games: crunch, living an unhealthy lifestyle, etc.

I've been telling myself for the past decade that "some day you'll be able to participate in LD again". My last LD was Ludum Dare 26 (2013).

Juggling LD plus a game job, or LD plus my own games business, both are tough. Doing LD alone is better, but it's still too much alone.

Part of me does thrive on the variety, but wearing too many hats weighs you down.

phew, I scared myself. I didn't realize my install on the servers was borked, until I tried updating the website today.

I'm not entirely sure why it wasn't working, but checking "whereis node" showed no result. Thankfully, running an "use" command solved this (suggesting it had forgotten what Node version it was using). I could reboot the server to see if that was somehow to blame, but nah. 😋
