You toast pecans in butter for several minutes to get that specific flavor. Butters a prominent ingredient and a core flavor.

You should think that butter pecan ice cream would contain butter, because it’s supposed to.

You should expect it the same way you would expect pecans, because they are both named ingredients of the flavor.

This Hacker Tool Extracts All the Data Collected by Windows’ New Recall AI (www.wired.com)

When Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella revealed the new Windows AI tool that can answer questions about your web browsing and laptop use, he said one of the “magical” things about it was that the data doesn’t leave your laptop; the Windows Recall system takes screenshots of your activity every five seconds and saves them on the...

Nmap is a “hacker tool” and all it does is ask computers what ports they have open, something they are set to advertise to the world.

This is a “hacker tool” in the sense that it is accessing data in an unintended way, in the same contect as nmap using protocols intended to communicate for a set purpose to built a list of possible attack vectors.

Hes been fighting this fight for 10 years, and was specifically and blatantly discrimination agaisnt on many occasions by the school district.

No, its not too much. If the taxpayers think it’s too much, they should not discriminated against in people the future.

over 4x as many people of color are pulled over as non POC during these stops

This is the important part. Cops are racist. They will stop 80 POC, 20 non POC, and arrest 2 of them for felonies. This puts targeted, inordinate strain on POC communities, who are consistently harassed by racist cops, which is an unjust act much worse than the felonies. Remeber felonies can be as non harmful as “has too much weed,” etc.

If cops weren’t racist, it wouldn’t be an issue, but they continue to be racist at every oppurtunity, so this prosecutor is trying to stop that racism by making it fruitless.

A “bike bus,” or rolling mass of happy kids and parents on bikes that builds as they travel a parent derived route to school. Basically a mini peleton of kids and parents, with parents acting as “captains, sheepdogs and cabooses.”

Pretty rad, spinning up a “critical mass” though community organizing instead of each sitting in a car, waiting hours to drop kids off or pick them up.

This did it for me. When she wore this specific jacket for the first and last time when on a “humanitarian” tour of the child border immigration camps. A tour that was promoted by the brutal “familiy separation” policy that separated migrant families and kept NO RECORDS about family relationships when they did so.

South korea should send thousands of balloons with food, books and instructions about how to sabotage industrial machines.

Boeing Will Launch Starliner With Helium Leak (www.extremetech.com)

Boeing and NASA are moving ahead with the upcoming Starliner demonstration launch despite an active helium leak. The launch is now on the books for Saturday, June 1, at 12:25 p.m. EDT. If all goes as planned, Starliner will rendezvous with the International Space Station the following day and return to Earth on June 10. If not,...

mosiacmango,

Nah, you have to have actual skills to be an astronaut.

mosiacmango,

Of course they will help him with the hope it pans out.

Nah, this is giving cops too much credit. People can have gps coordinates, video of crimes occuring, first and last names of thieves and plently of times cops do literally nothing past filing a report.

Its a yearly event that collects directors and above fork across the company to a week long “convention” that is supposed to be about building cohesive between leadership.

The author went in 2022, when they had bon jovi play, and said it was just a boozy networking event where leadership was dictated to by the execs with no actual exchange of ideas.

In 2022, Amazon made a record profits, but even then they were admonished to save money. Still, no layoffs.

This year? They also made record profits, but had record layoffs, yet the party goes on.

The authors overall point is that Amazon is successful by asking people to “lean in,” to go the extra mile. When you freeze wages and layoff 10,000s of people while threatening more and still throw your 10 million dollar party for yourself, you are telling good people to not only leave, but to lean right the fuck out before they do.

Cohen served time for this exact same crime in the exact same state. I think he was sentenced to 3 years and did 1.5 due to covid early release. That was also his first felony.

It’s fully possible he gets jail time.

It’s a strange but good idea that im glad is gaining traction.

Cheap and plentiful material, no heat or rot in space, apprently resitant to cracks, burns up on re-entry so no space trash.

Sounds like its got a lot of positives.

Shes a famous dancer and choreographer as well, but TNG does play that up.

She was the dance choreographer and in charge of puppet movement for Labyrinth as an example.

Most flat earth conspiracy is part of a larger biblical conspiracy, which lines up with pushing for Christian theocracy. Most of the flat earthers are not “one and done.” They are part of deeper and way more harmful conspiratorial groups like Qanon.

It’s not at all harmless joke conspiracies like “birds with arms” or other kinds of one off cryptozoology like Bigfoot or Nessy.

“You can’t get blood from a stone” is classic in the US. “No more juice from the squeeze” is another variant.

You can claim the IDF has no regard for human life, so they don’t care if they kill innocent Gazans (I would disagree, but whatever). But to claim that they try to eradicate them is crazy.

The IDF absolutely does not care if it kills innocent civilians. You do not establish invisible “kill zones” in a civilain occupied area and indiscriminately fire on men, women and children if you care about human life. These zones are so ubiquitous and so ill policed that the IDF killed 3 jewish hostages that escaped captivity, hostages that striped themselves shirtless, called out in hebrew, waved white flags, had large signs saying they were escaped hostages, and still the IDF ran them down like dogs to kill because they violated a invisible “kill zone” boundary.

Also, Israel evacuated 800,000 people from Rafah before entering, why do that if they just wanted them to die?

After months of intense and very public pressure and a first in decades withholding of weapons from the US, and after very publicly murdering humanitarian aid workers that cost Israel a great deal of international support for this war. Even then they barely setup any services like tents, water or sanitation for those 800k forced refuges moved into a “expanded humanitarian area,” i.e concentration camp, all while your ministers like Ben Gvir call for the literal genocide of the Palestinian people to continue.

These are not the actions of a country that cares for civilain life.

If youre friendly with your neighbor, point to point wifi is cheap and very effective. You can share their interent if they are okay with it.

You buy 2 wifi antennas for $200, set one up at the point of origin and line it up with the other at the end point. Plug each end into a router and you’re all set.

You dont even need perfect line of sight, although it does help. Range is 5 miles, so 1000ft shouldn’t be a challenge. They are preconfigured, so basically just plug and play.

Edit : they have an even better set for $400 if you want 1.5x the speed above.

mosiacmango,

Are you saying novel mechanical engineering designs are impossible? That the mechanism of a leaf blower is so near perfection, that a well funded team of 4 mechanical engineering students could not, without VIOLATING THE LAWS OF PHYSICS, have simply found a better mechanism?

I agree with your “show me the numbers” critique, but I find your complete disregard of what may be a better answer without any data at all to be equally foolhardy.

mosiacmango, (edited )

never wound up being actually true since they go against the very nature of physics.

This is an incredibly wild statement when you have no data on the device’s construction or operation.

Youre complaining about a lack of data then making wild assumptions about it with no data.

Not exactly a good scientific method here, mate.

“May even be breaking the law” is pure spin by sociopaths, for sociopaths. Ceos have a fiduciary duty to owners, i.e shsreholders, but that can easily mean you invest in long term gains like employee support, safer and more efficient tooling and policies building up community goodwill, etc.

It doesn’t mean you have to cut throat brutalize all you can grasp in your greed soaked hands. No law, of any type, compels that. If a board does, it’s just empowered by the thought terminating cliche that “no, no we have a duty to gut people’s lives so line goes up.”

The above is people making excuses for their socially destructive behavior, not an actual justification.

mosiacmango,

A boy almost gets murdered for catching a ball.

mosiacmango,

His actual actions aren’t important, because his results are “holy.”

If you asked them about a “demon rat” that had doen exactly what their “holy” man had done, they would rant endlessly about his vile acts and his damnation.

Their zealotry is transactional, that’s all. Give them what they want, and you can be their savior too.

No, not inherently. If the two same sex people dont engage in any sexual contact directly, its just a heteosexual threesome.

Bisexual threesome is when everyone is having sex with everyone else.

Only on lemmy would Biden drastically reducing a very stupid and racist drug law that has persisted for decades be a bad thing.

Changing the classification away from “its basically heroin” changes a lot actually. Research funding, federal therapeutic use, authorized law enforcement actions, banking laws, these are all able to be shifted and changed in the context of weed now.

Its not the end of federal legalization attempts, it’s the start. It drastically normalizes something at a federal level that has already been legalized at a state level. That’s how you fully legalize it.

It’s not some imagined set back because of weak “we did enough already” arguments that no one actually believes, especially with federal legalization at 70% popularity.
