mydude,

The democrats are all moderate republicans, which in itself is an oxymoron. Don’t believe me, here is Obama saying just that (about himself); m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJIlZxHfclc Now imagine you somehow get total control of all braches, and to top it off 3 weeks filibuster proof. You can do anything, but you don’t really want change. What do you do? Well implement RomneyCare, call it ObamaCare and leave out the public option, which will ensure it be a giveaway to big pharma. Seems good at first glance, but leaving out the public option really killed it, as they intended.

mydude,

The idea behind the tracking of pregnancy is the protection of the individual “Child” and “future member of the society” against “overreaching authoritarian forces” which could lead to the death of said “member”. And the threat to the “child” is not the government but rather the mother and the supporting force would be the government. So placing the information to control into the hands of the government is an obvious choice.

I,m not sure I follow here, but I don’t think the government is trustworthy with holding this information, wether it was given by the mother “freely” or not. The government has proven over and over it is not to be trusted with such personal data. If a complication or a situation change arises and the mother has to end her pregnancy. It will be used for punishment.

mydude,

He didn’t vote on this, he co-wrote it. Wake up man…

mydude, (edited )

These are the things that he’s proud of. He’s not ashamed of these policies. Not one bit.

bigthink.com/the-present/joe-biden-student-debt/

In 1978 he co-wrote a bill that introduced the first limit on how students could use bankruptcy law to reduce their debt burden.

In 1990 he helped author the Crime Control Act, which is famous for stepping up sentencing guidelines, included an entirely unrelated clause that further lengthened the time students had to wait before they could declare bankruptcy on their student loans.

In 1998 they introduced an “undue hardship” clause to federal student loan bankruptcy proceedings; making it even more difficult to declare bankruptcy on student debt.

To top all of this off, he supported adding the undue hardship clause to private student loans in 2005.

JOE BIDEN PLAYED a central role in the creation of the student debt crisis…

Edit, here is some more information if you would like to see more concrete examples:

mydude,

He stole the battery in 1978, 1990, 1998 , 2005. If you can’t see the pattern, then I can’t help you.

mydude,

It’s not that Biden hates borrowers or students. The problem is, that even way back then, he owed too much favours, so he drafted legislation that “the big guys” (his quote) wanted.

Results from Cca 1990 being easier to criminalize young people, and young people with records could not wipe debt/much harder to do. (if I understood it correctly).

mydude,

mydude,

I don’t really trust these adblockers… Has anyone tried using Greasemonkey or any of the equivalent script environments for adblocking? I know it’s posdible, but I could not find any good scripts available? Has anyone found any good scripts on github (or other places) for this?

mydude,

Firemonkey is open-source, random scripts can easily be inspected. I know performance probably will suck, but I know the code being run don’t monitor me. Can you say the same for uBlock?

In sharing this video here I’m preaching to the choir, but I do think it indirectly raised a valuable point which probably doesn’t get spoken about enough in privacy communities. That is, in choosing to use even a single product or service that is more privacy-respecting than the equivalent big tech alternative, you are...

I’ve been interested in self-hosting for a while, but didn’t really know where to start. I came across this post [lemmy.world/post/6542543] which was exactly what I was looking for to start, and...

For a simplified example, if you don’t agree to give weapons to isreal you can’t become president. But without power you can do nothing.
