A track from the new album of Hideous Divinity. They really nailed it with this one!

I really HATE Word's idiosyncrasies about formatting. Even if I create a style for a certain thing, it still fucks up everything.

(Yes, I know that there are many other alternatives, If it would be for me, I'd do everything in markdown... but this is a Sharepoint directory with Microsoft 365 😒 ).

For , a Dutch band (eventually disbanded, I presume) with a good thrash vibe mixed with melodic death metal, straight from At The Gates school (so, let it also count as a entry).

Hello, people!

How many times do we think about the things we know?

That's what will be asked for this : five songs about knowledge, the pursuit of it, the reveal of things that should/could be known... or just about knowing something.

Let's reveal

Mine in the next toot.

For this , hosted by @loewe , I'm feeling... egoist.

Well, this is a song from EGOIST . Discovered them when I was watching Psycho Pass (one of my favorite anime of all time).

Hello, people!

For this @Kitty 's #MittwochMetalMix , I want to share a pinch of crazyness.

It's always a pleasure listening to a new album from those mad jokers of The Monolith Deathcult.

Despite being well rooted in death metal, they propose a more anarchical and amusing approach to the matter. Lethal grooves, symphonic and industrial-ish parts and sarcastic touches here and there.

@defcon42 @Kitty Indeed, I did have the impression to have listened to "Metadorrr" somewhere else, but at a first listening I overlooked this.

Maybe some skilled Windows user can help me here.

Everyday I need to "paste" several time the build number of this day.

I would like to have something like the clipboard but independent from it.

So I can set the content in the morning and use so "paste" key to insert it as many time as required.

This separated from the regular ctrl-c/ctrl-v that I still use for other purposes.

This is possible?

neurothing,
@neurothing@metalhead.club avatar

@kingu

Two ways:

Install a clipboard manager like Ditto, who saves your "ctrl+c"-ed clips and it can be open by a keyboard shortcut

Use the Windows one, if you:

  • don't want to install third party tools;
  • have Win 11 and
  • don't mind about quite-shitty way of saving clips.
    This is callable by a shortcut too.

Hello, people!

For this , hosted by @HailsandAles , the new release from the one-man band Kvadrat.

A twisted black/death metal, with so many ideas, that stays true to its title with the "dissonance" part.

I'm trying Anytype. It's like a mixture between Notion and Obsidian.

It's too soon to tell how I feel using it, but it seems to have some interesting features.

I'll subject it to "torture", let's see.

@fkamiah17 hello, buddy! They are Personal Knowledge Management tools.

A place where to put all your notes about stuff you learn, personal ideas or projects.

Instead of having more separated tools to store pages, links or notes (web brower's bookmarks, Pocket, Instapaper, Google Notes...), everything will be put in one place and organized according to user's needs.

I am curious about something.

Regardless of your "generation" (Baby Boomer, GenX, GenZ, Millennial, etc.) do you play video games?

Which ones? I would love to know the names. Yes, even if you play 10 games constantly... I'm very curious.

Please?

neurothing,
@neurothing@metalhead.club avatar

@mentallyalex Millennial.

Old FPS, like Doom, Hexen, Quake I and II, Blood...
Recently, Ion Fury.

Indie games with not-too-demanding system requirements.
(es. Mark Of The Ninja, Transistor, GRIS, Castle Crashers...)

Spiderweb games (Avernum, Avadon, Geneforge).

Remakes of old games (Streets Of Rage, Toki...)

Bethesda RPGs (Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim with the survival DLC).

Oh, and Dark Souls.

Moin! Brain is really slow with chatty social stuff today so I'm gonna share what book I am reading, feel free to join with the book you are reading, or the series you are watching :blobcat:

I am reading Our Man in Havana by Grahame Greene.

It has a Kafkaesque air to it with the everyday and mundane suddenly becoming sinister and surreal.

@harriolkn @Kitty I loved Stella Maris. It's definitely not easy because throws in some complex deliberations with a blend of math and existence, but I really liked that the events are narrated exclusively as a dialog

neurothing, (edited )
@neurothing@metalhead.club avatar

@harriolkn @Kitty Quite the same (I just read "The Passenger" in Italian). Stella Maris, with all its complexities, has a more straight plot and the dialogic structure creates an unusual "flow".

"The Passenger" has a classically wider plot with more characters. But the many references and reflections about science and physics keep the complexity at the same level.
