Traefik setup for Truenas smb?

I’ve been trying to figure this out off and on for months without any luck. This is my first homelab setup in a while. I have Proxmox running a few VMs, one is Truenas with some drives in direct passthrough. I also have a Proxmox container running Docker which is running a few things, Traefik being one of them....

I’m not sure if you can proxy smb as it’s not http/s data. If using NGiNX you could use something like the stream config, but there’s not really an advantage.

Yeah unfortunately iOS is very stingy with battery. Thankfully there's a few apps that use apples push and ejabberd supports it. I haven't tested them in a while tho since I'm on android.

Mattermost is great and I'm pretty sure they have an iOS app. I don't believe the messages are encrypted on MM, but if you're running the infra it's not too big of a deal IMHO.

Do you guys use some management software for your server or just have a lot of docker containers?

Sorry, maybe a weird question. But I am gonna acquire a nice server soon and am interested on how to manage that. I want to run stuff like a webserver, matrix server and just a lot of cool stuff. But how do I approach that on a software level? Any tips would be nice. Thanks

I run as much as I can baremetal on Debian. If I can’t do baremetal I use podman on Debian.
