There's not shit for sports content on Mastodon yet. Big content gap. One of the weaker points.

EDIT: I mean that the only breaking news/analysis sports content I see is from Twitter bots. Professional content, not fan chatter

With all the recent movement and changes in the #nba, my favorite plotline has absolutely been the Golden State Warriors. Not only do we get the pure comedy gold of Warriors fans frantically scrubbing a decade of Chris Paul slander from their timelines, what could be more wholesome than the idea of two old foes like CP3 and Draymond out there together, two happy pals just punching guys in the nuts left and right? It warms the cockles, so to speak. No sack will be safe when that team is in town.

Look. I get it. A lot of us nerds read about cyberspace when young and thought it sounded awesome. And now the tech bros assume that since we live in an IRL dystopia that providing virtual escapism must be a valid business plan. But the simple fact is that VR is 95% stupid as an actual experience, solves no real problems and the gear 100% always makes you look like a fucking moron. But at least it has wasted billions of dollars of corporate wealth

At this point I'm ready to believe Jimmy Butler could and would dunk on God and then talk shit to Jesus and the Holy Ghost. Mary he treats with respect because his mama brought him up right.

Denver is clearly just a lot better than the Lakers, though LA has defended Jokic reasonably well overall. Murray has showed up big any time Jokic isn't able to dominate and their role players take turns making big plays in big moments. They're really a beautiful team to watch.

I enjoyed yesterday's JRAD talk but there's a line of thinking I've seen variations of over the years that I never understand.

(And I promise this isn't aimed at any particular people - just an observation)

It's essentially why would you listen to JRAD when you can just listen to the actual Dead?

JRAD uses the Dead songbook simply as a starting point on which to build musical conversations. Sometimes it checks a lot of the boxes of the original version + sometimes it is wildly different. 1/x
