olutukko,

you’re supposed to wash the turne inside out

olutukko,

I’m not that old. I’m just old enough to send song trough bluetooth from friend to friend and it took ages. also good luck trying to watch porn since only device capable of that is the family computer

olutukko,

in finland most of our gum just has xylitol in it

olutukko,

just use it as intended instead of trying to rip it off

olutukko,

I mean she does have a t-shirt that says “white american privilege”

hope that answers to your question

olutukko,

I take it as patriotic america first -slogan. the woman is some patriotic nutjob who has her podcast called truth uncensored of something like that so it’s pretty safe to assume she is one of those christian maga idiots who would definetly lose their shit for seeing “sacrifise child” in their tv

olutukko,

for real. my uncle has been programmer his whole life and he was always the most linux guy I’ve known. I have never seen him use any other os. and yet he uses ubuntu. his own words are thar he doesn’t care about all the bells and whistles that come trough distros like arch or gentoo. ubuntu works well enough for him and it’s what he is used to, so he uses that.

using ubuntu defiently does not mean you’re a noob or non-techy linux user. personally I wouldn’t touch it again but the linux culture about arch being superior and others being for noobs is ridiculous

olutukko,

this is so true. just because one can use more advanced systems doesn’t mean he’s smarter than all the more “basic” system users. especially in the linux world.

all of the distros can pretty much do the same thing, some distros are just more focused on the ease of use.

olutukko,

yeah fuck people from other countries and let the corporations fuck over people who aren’t me am I right?

it’s not whining people who fuck the gaming community. it’s the corporations who are making decisions that cause people to whine over them

olutukko, (edited )

I would imagine so considering the fact that the picture posted has muddy windshield and windahield wipers on action

edit: yeah does have that feature! I tried the game on archive.org it’s pretty fun

olutukko,

my ended by me growing up. in my country small towns and villages had pretty much no foreigners when I was child so racism was pretty normal. mostly just really offensive jokes and racial slurs with no though give to them. so it was pretty easy for all that shit catch in to you. when I grew up a bit and started hangik out in the closest city I quickly stopped all of that shit. I was never racist by heart or hateful towards minorities but all that joking and slurring was so normalized that I didn’t really give it a thought until I actually started thinking independently.

I feel sad towards some of the people I used to know who are now young adults and still live there doing the same bullshit and being actually racists

olutukko,

I had this problem in my job as a drafter. I was wondering why the hell Tekla would complain about the same object name already being in use despite everything having its own name. took me way too long to realize there wad some stupidly max name length and the program did nothing to alarm the user about trying to put too long name. it just cut the overflow away.

olutukko,

it’s not like there were awesome game series which came to exist as a passion projects that are being discontinued because people don’t like the latest titles because they were lazy cash crabs…

olutukko,

we have kotipizza in finland. it’s shit. but it’s kinda allright sometimes. I always go to the little places. I even formed a sort of relationahip with one place because I used to go there so often I didn’t have to order to get just what I wanted. those little chain free places are special

olutukko,

apparently wsl 2 enabled option to run gui apps too so I would imagine desktop or wm would work too, but I don’t think it would be possible to enable super key for those without windows registering it too. this is just my speculation though. but traditionally people use it to run linux cli applications etc.

at least my classmates have been using it for classes that require usage of linux. I have never touched it myself since I converted to the church of linux before wsl was a thing

olutukko,

Walt I don’t know man, you’ve been acting kinda sus lately

Driving in Japan (jemmy.jeena.net)

Driving in Japan with the wheel on the right side. The first time I did that last year I drove on the wrong side of the road about 5 times and got a shock every time when I saw all the ghost drivers just to quickly realize that it’s me who is driving the wrong way. This year it only happened one time, so my brain seems to...

olutukko, (edited )

the fact that it would be extremely confusing to get to one when you’re driving on a opposite lane than you’re used to?

which is what they were talking about

olutukko,

bruh… they are literally saying it in the context of “well I am glad I haven’t had to go to one because they don’t really exist here”

not that it’s a good thing for japan to not have roundabouts so some foreigners don’t have to drive them. no one is saying roundabouts are bad.

olutukko,

I think that would only applu to this certain instance. not lemmy as whole

olutukko,

what’s the story behind that one finnish sentence? :D terveisiä suomesta

olutukko,

the neat part is they don’t. unless you tell them about the trip. I too only take pictures of my surroundings, with my camera app, for myself, without the intend of sharing more than maybe one of them. unless I happend to put something on a family group chat or something

olutukko,

how is °C written incorrectly twice? it was already correct in the first part of the meme

olutukko, (edited )

I mean we do know the formula, se we know pretty well how accurate it was, since we can just use the same formula with meters and calculate it ourselves

"The simplified method works by considering two cities along the same meridian and measuring both the distance between them and the difference in angles of the shadows cast by the sun on a vertical rod (a gnomon) in each city at noon on the summer solstice. The two cities used were Alexandria and Syene (modern Aswan), and the distance between the cities was measured by professional bematists.[16] A geometric calculation reveals that the circumference of the Earth is the distance between the two cities divided by the difference in shadow angles expressed as a fraction of one turn. "

olutukko,

I knew a lot of people with xbox one. but around that time I also knew a lot of people who started converting to playstation or pc. I don’t recall seeing X/S in the wild ever
