A small square of paper falls to the floor from the library book I’m holding.

Small square letters, written in blue ink, someone’s forgotten list.

Carnations
Duct tape
Gum Drops
Salt

I turn the paper over, there’s nothing on the back.

Why would someone need this particular combination of items?

For some reason, I’m thinking something nefarious is involved.

I decide I’m being an idiot, and make the list my new bookmark.

Shades of Green

In shades of green
I lie beside the flowing silver stream
cooling in the forest green deep and dark
with shapely leaves and green vine hearts
soft colored shades of pastel greens
and every shade of plant life in between
I rest my soul
upon the long stemmed grasses low
and dream a dream
of moist soft living shades of green

Fabulous afternoon! After treating myself to lunch, I dug into some #genealogy, on my dad’s side.

Cleared up two questions with date of birth inconsistencies, and verified some information for a cousin.

Best part? Unexpectedly discovered I have ancestors in my HUSBAND’s home town, buried right down the street from us!

Also found a possible early Pilgrim connection that will need verification.

Such a great afternoon!
