Despite its name, the infrastructure used by the “cloud” accounts for more global greenhouse emissions than commercial flights. In 2018, for instance, the 5bn YouTube hits for the viral song Despacito used the same amount of energy it would take to heat 40,000 US homes annually....
To be fair, crypto will never stand a chance against fiat as a means for payments because governments ensure that it’s complicated to tax. However, the underlying blockchain technology remains very interesting to me as a means of getting around middlemen companies.
Yes, both sides bad, but Biden less bad. Making government easy to work with should be the bare minimum. We don’t have to throw them a parade every time they do something sane, they work for us.
Probably not, maybe house arrest? I’m curious to see if this has an effect on the other cases, if any. Can Jack Smith easily add a 2016 election interference count now that this is proven?
Yeah, it’s one of those things that some people try to convince themselves they don’t care about. They’ll say things like “that’s their relationship” or “she’s an independent woman”, I’m not sure they really believe it though. Most of them wouldn’t act the same way in their own relationships, unless they thought they had no other choice or had something to gain.
I have everything pretty much ready to launch full time. Time, skills, customers, support from family. But I’d leave my current job behind and with it my family’s health insurance for the foreseeable future. I can’t afford any of the options I’ve seen. It’s the one thing holding me back. Any ideas for affordable health...
in a political environment where health insurance has successfully executed regulatory capture of all relevant laws and agencies.
Well said. It blew my mind when Obamacare, and my Massachusetts Romneycare before it, turned “giving people healthcare” into “giving people health insurance”.
People wanted health care, they pretended to give it to us, and they ensured it meant more profit for the industry.
Sure, but imagine being part of the government, having a huge organization at your disposal and being a super genius who speaks multiple languages. You should understand the process and have an organization of people who can help manage it. Private industry has placed thousands of these things, it’s doable.
Granted, there are no doubt multiple competing priorities, but obviously this wasn’t one of them.

I’ll never forget how he wanted to “lock her (Hillary) up” but then after the election he said that the Clintons were “good people”. His inability to do the things he says sometimes gives me hope, but also there is the current Supreme Court.
Not surprising. The entire idea is kind of dumb to begin with. Sure, let’s not make any meaningful reduction in our emissions and attempt to pay someone to clean up our pollution instead. If anything there should be a carbon tax that goes toward verified programs. There is no way having corporations randomly throw money at grifters will ever work out.
He was embarrassed that he cheated on his pregnant wife and then, in order to win the election, he committed fraud to hide it. The 34 counts are about the fraud, not the cheating.
