Dealing with regular expressions?

You need https://regex101.com.

pcambra,
@pcambra@drupal.community avatar

@jpoesen and you DO NOT NEED https://regexcrossword.com I repeat, do NOT

Building a new personal Drupal site for the first time in a very long time and I'm looking for a theme. It seems there are base theme kits but I don't see much for "I want something that looks like a blog, but a little fun". Is that the reality? I'll need to do a bit of my own custom design work, then?

pcambra,
@pcambra@drupal.community avatar

@greggles it’s not perfect but I’ve used https://www.drupal.org/project/d8_blog_theme recently

What's your solution in for note titles that need formatting like bold and italics?
I almost always create separate "Title" (plain text) and "Display Title" (html) fields for content types, but I've never heard anyone else suggest this or seen it in practice. The bonus benefit of this is that it allows the plain text title to be used for sorting while displaying the desired Display Title, like if you want to prepend an emoji to the display title, or prepend an event title with CANCELLED:

I'm sorry Slack, you're doing fucking WHAT with user DMs, messages, files, etc? I'm positive I'm not reading this correctly.

The list of past winner’s of the Aaron Winborn Award is impressive.

But, it is also quite an honor to be nominated- the Community Working Group always notifies all nominees to let them know they’ve been recognized. Nominate a deserving community member today.

Nominations close March 29.

👿: Here's the prod API details.
👱‍♀️: Thanks. The prod endpoint doesn't return anything.
👿: You're not supposed to be using the prod endpoint, it's not ready.
👱‍♀️: But you just gave me all the details for prod and...
👿: You should only use the test endpoint.
👱‍♀️: OK sends request to test endpoint

Well, DrupalCon Barcelona tickets are out and as expected they're quite disappointing pricing-wise:

  • Tickets range from 775€ in early bird - without knowing the program - to onsite, 1330€.

  • Minimum wage in Spain for 2024 is 1134€, to put in perspective how unreasonable the pricing is for locals.

  • Student ticket is 485€ in Europe, it was 50€ for DrupalCon Portland.

I really dislike how DrupalCon has became an elitist event.

pcambra,
@pcambra@drupal.community avatar

@joachim I do not know exact numbers but it is a 2 day event now so we're probably in 60% or less.

@fgm @rodricels this reflection interests me a lot, at what point does the event and association exist merely to support the association and the event rather than to support the project mission.

For years I had been hearing about Engelbart's "Mother of all demos" in 1968, but never realized it was actually available online. Watch it at https://youtu.be/B6rKUf9DWRI?si=L6e6X2aSk1RSBr7R then consider what most programming environments were at the time. It must have been unthinkable for most pros then. Awesome !

pcambra,
@pcambra@drupal.community avatar

@fgm it is truly awesome, I refer to it more often than I care to admit. The sketchpad demos are something else too https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6orsmFndx_o

We're currently having issues with the community instance, as reported by some users, the ingress and pull processes have been lagging during the weekend.

We've restarted the services and it is slowly coming back to normal but we have this issue too often now to ignore it.

We believe after looking to it for a bit with the help of NITEMAN (https://www.drupal.org/u/niteman) that the bottleneck could be PostgreSQL, for the time being we've increased the memory but I think we will need more actions
