Education is linked with freedom.

That’s why the Brown v. Board decision we commemorate today is so important.

The work of building a democracy of possibility – a democracy worthy of our dreams – starts with opening the school doors of opportunity for all.

Today we face an insidious few who want a country for some of us, not all of us.

But the Little Rock Nine, and the movement of courage that they inspired, proves that the promise of America is big enough for everyone to succeed.

HBCUs are responsible for:

40% of Black engineers,
50% of all Black teachers,
70% of all Black doctors and dentists,
And 80% of all Black judges.

Today I’m proud to announce we’ve invested over $16 billion in HBCUs, the most ever by any Administration.

Earlier today, the first shipments of humanitarian assistance arrived on the shores of Gaza through the multinational humanitarian pier thanks to the tireless work of the U.S. Central Command and our teams at @usaid and @statedept.

potus,

To start, our partners at USAID are using this corridor to deliver 170 metric tons of nutrient-rich food bars to support 11,000 of the most vulnerable children and adults, ready-to-use therapeutic foods, and supplies to support shelter, clean water, and hygiene for over 33,000 people.

And more aid from the U.S. and other countries continues to arrive in Cyprus, where it will be loaded onto ships for delivery via the pier.

potus,

Let me be clear:

The Palestinian people are suffering.

The need to get increased aid to the most vulnerable is urgent.

And our work with Israel to further increase the amount of aid getting into Gaza by land continues.

In the 1950s, the plaintiffs of Brown v. Board of Education were excluded from certain classrooms – but yesterday they stood in the Oval Office.

They're a living reminder that 70 years wasn’t long ago.

For all the progress we’ve made, we still have more to do to combat racism.

No one should be jailed for simply using or possessing marijuana.

On the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia, my Administration stands in solidarity with LGBTQI+ people around the world as they seek to live lives free from hate-fueled violence and discrimination.

It’s a matter of human rights, plain and simple.

This week, I met with our nation's Joint Chiefs of Staff and Combatant Commanders to commend them for their leadership, thank them for their commitment to our country, and discuss how I can continue to support them and every service member under their charge.

One more big step toward fixing our failed approach to marijuana.

70 years after the Supreme Court ruled in Brown v. Board of Education that 'separate but equal' was unconstitutional, I welcomed plaintiffs and their families to the People’s House.

We still haven't lived up to our founding promise of equality – but we sure as hell aren’t walking away from it.

Too many lives have been upended because of our failed approach to marijuana.

So today, the U.S. Department of Justice is taking the next step to reclassify marijuana from a Schedule I to a Schedule III drug under federal law.

Here's what that means:

potus,

Right now, marijuana has a higher-level classification than fentanyl and methamphetamine – the two drugs driving America's overdose epidemic.

That just doesn't add up.

potus,

At my request, and guided by science and evidence, HHS and DOJ have studied the drug's medical use and abuse and dependency potential and are recommending rescheduling – concluding reclassification would remove barriers to critical research.

potus,

No one should be in jail just for using or possessing marijuana.

Today’s announcement builds on the work we’ve already done to pardon a record number of federal offenses for simple possession of marijuana.

I’m committed to writing those historic wrongs. You have my word.

Everyone deserves a fair shot at the American dream of homeownership.

I've long believed that people who’ve borne the brunt of pollution should be the first to see the benefits of new investment – that’s why my Justice40 Initiative is delivering for disadvantaged communities.

Environmental justice will always be at the heart of my climate fight.

For all of you who serve, you live a simple truth.

Every time you put on that shield and go to work, your family wonders if you’ll come home or if they’ll get that terrible call instead.

We owe you as a nation.

Today, we honor over 200 heroic women and men across our law enforcement community who made the ultimate sacrifice.

They represent the best of us.

And their families represent absolute courage.

Congressional Republicans’ plans to cut taxes for the wealthy, protect special interests, and slash Social Security and Medicare would skyrocket costs.

I have a different vision:

One in which we take on special interests to lower costs and give the middle class a fair shot.

Core inflation has fallen to its lowest level in three years.

But many families are struggling, and we have a lot more to do.

That's why I have a plan to lower housing costs, lower prescription drug prices, and lower child care costs.

I won’t allow American towns and workers to be hurt by China’s unfair trade practices that flood our markets with cheap products.

That’s what these new tariffs are all about.

My Affordable Connectivity Program has helped over 23 million American households access affordable, high-speed internet.

Republican Leadership in Congress is letting it expire.
