To this day, I can’t get how #Discord works and why everyone is raving about it. I mean, I am following several communities on Discord and know the basics around, but for the life of me, given the chance, I won’t ever choose that flashy thing over some more sane means of online communication.

Am I the last person standing who does not get the hype around Discord? I mean, why is everyone hosting servers there - are they free forever or something?

My short exploration of Bluesky and Threads is coming to an end. I still enjoy Mastodon and its community the most 🐘

Obviously, because of its massive momentum, Threads has enticed some accounts I’d definitely want to keep an eye on. Thus, I’m still keeping my Threads account open, with the hope I’d get more and more people there to at least turn on federation.

I don’t know whose idea at Apple it was to create a separate app just for journaling, but this could have easily been a feature of Apple Notes. While I love the slick UI and the suggestions, at this point, it feels more like a fancy demo, than a fully functional memory vault. Add search and integrate it with Notes, and you might be able to get me to switch away from Day One.

I would say, the devil is always in the details. I have been using AI-generated imagery and I can claim that it does add value to my posts - because I am putting thought in how I want the image to look like.

Most other people are fine with producing crappy generic DALL-E imagery, and that's the problem.
