pyrflie,

“I could do with a snack”

Licks lips at Villian.

Thankfully skippable logos and SRS are standard now. Devs won that round.

pyrflie,

Considering the crowd; you’re better off outside. Heaven is populated with zealots. Heaven for the Weather, Hell for the Company.

No spoilers please, but does Old Man’s War get better?

I’ve been really enjoying John Scalzi’s catalog- Started with Starter Villain (delightful!), The Kaiju Preservation Society (Sweet…), Lock In + Head On (fun who-done-its), The Android’s Dream (clever, enjoyable read), Agent to the Stars (funny, creative, pretty good)....

pyrflie,

Yeah, it’s more of a Cyberpunk war doc. If you aren’t depressed at the end it hasn’t done it’s job. And it does it’s job quite well.

pyrflie,

I beat an ancient Egyptian god to death with a Q-tip. Any claim Assassin’s Creed might have had to approximating historical accuracy died several games ago even if we ignore the Ancient Aliens bullshit that’s been around since the begining.

pyrflie, (edited )

Correct, they were looking for the “apple of eden” (golden orb from the first few games). It gets revealed by the end of the Renaissance arc that objects they are looking for are technological remnants of an ancient civilization that created humans as a slave race by stripping out parts of their own genetic code. It’s a bastardized version Sichin’s Ancient Aliens “theory”.

pyrflie,

Yeah it’s for the new AC Shadows trailer, one of the main characters is a black samurai.

pyrflie,

I prefer the side cut options. No sharp edges but you still get good penetration and drainage. Zishi was the best option the last time I bought 5.

pyrflie,

Both are news because both are dementia patients with the possibility to control nukes. Neither should be eligible for office.

pyrflie,

John Wick was the Satire. The imitations all come off as fake due to this. The Nobody movie with Odenkirk was the blood in the water.

They’re fun but pointless. It’s jumping the shark after the end of Happy Days.

pyrflie,

That’s the thing though, their best track on the album, and probably their best ever, is about why they stick it out with each other anyway (at least as a band).

Rumors and The Chain are amazing.

After Raids, NYPD Denied Student Protesters Water and Food in Jail (theintercept.com)

Students arrested during the police crackdown on protests at universities in New York City last week were denied water and food for 16 hours, according to two faculty members at Columbia University’s Barnard College who collected reports from students who were inside....

pyrflie,

I think you and google are missing the difference between Jail, Prison, and Holding Cells. the combined unit you show is only common in Prison and long term county lvl jails; for cities/town/district jails and holding cells they may or may not even have a toilet as they are designed around an 4-8hr stay limit.

Most likely what happened is that a district detention got overwhelmed and just placed people in secure locations and lost track of them. Hanlon’s razor.

pyrflie,

Well it’s good to know you are a cop (BS of CJ), as it means you aren’t an engineer. Given that I have designed jails, courthouses, and police stations I can say that your BS means basically nothing in this as you are mostly trained in criminal law rather than building code.

Holding time, local building code, and CA budget are the biggest constraints for the buildings in question. 4-8hrs holding period does not require and often doesn’t get a plumbing connection.

pyrflie,

Honestly sounds like they dodged a bullet. Tesla doesn’t sound like beneficial employment.

pyrflie,

Coming from the Northern US the difference between 10C and 30C is a Jacket and a T-shirt. This is just May.

February is -30C to 10C depending on cloud cover, wind, and precipitation.

10C does not rep Aokiji; and 30C for Suzaku is kinda insulting for everyone south of the 30th parallel.

pyrflie,

10C is 50F that’s barely jacket weather if it’s raining.

30C is ~85F which is a comfortable day to walk around.

Aokiji is an instant freeze -100C or -150 F. -60F is death.

Suzaku is Magma or 150C or 302F. At 120F Arizona holes up like it’s winter.

The comparisons are insulting in both directions.

pyrflie,

You missed the point of the meme and my contention.

pyrflie,

Less, one of the major genetic innovations of the late Cambrian was development of jaws. The vast majority of these species would get wrecked by modern fish in moments.

pyrflie,

Lasers and barbecues not so much yet, but Blue Whales, Humback Whales, and Whale Sharks have effectively turned their teeth into fishing nets.

pyrflie,

Actually there are several pretty good settings in the 1860s-80s, California, New York, London, Hong Kong, and Egypt (Suez Canal constructed 1859-1869). The more I looked into it the richer it got.

pyrflie,

This was my thinking for the Samurai, we are basically looking at embassy staff and exiles that managed to retain their weapons.

pyrflie,

Don’t trust her unless you are going Demon in which case she is probably your best ally.

pyrflie,

It’s just a different duality those that want to pain the world red and those that want to paint it white.

pyrflie,

Kobold Artificer. Favorite class and second favorite race; hell of a combo.

Most of my campaigns: Monster races banned.

I’ve gotten to play a Bugbear once and a Kobold once. They are some of my favorite campaigns.

pyrflie,

Me as a DM: “God I hope they are, I don’t know how they will survive otherwise.” Pencils in Dracolich.
