So @alpennec had the great idea to have quick access pills to switch timelines in @IceCubesApp I think I like it. The idea is that you could pin any top menu filter (like lists) on the home tab to quickly access it without opening the menu.

You can feel all kind of thing because of current generative AI but for me it's supercharged various flows. I work the same as before, but much faster. And this can only get better from there. This is not something that gonna disappear tomorrow. You should get used to it.

Had an idea for a Star Trek TNG eppy:
Old respected Klingon commander participates in an exchange program with the federation, brings a cadre of his own officers with him on to a federation vessel on exercise with the Enterprise.
The small federation task force encounters hostile bad guys (insert whatever)
Fedeartion vessels bridge is smashed along with the officers. Old Klingon commander and his team take command through an auxillary bridge

Why is it when I intentionally park far away from everyone else in large parking lot someone always has to park right beside me? WHY!

@mike there’s probably an aspect of safety in numbers to it too. I imagine, if there’s an especially dark and gloomy parkade, some folks would rather park next to others.

Also the whole… “if I park next to a nice car, people are more likely to break into that car than mine!” 😂

Been evaluating , and noticed that the service uses git send-email rather than pull requests like other git services. I’m reading why this article by @martijnbraam

I’m seeing talk of force-pushing after opening a PR. Why force-push after a PR is opened? Are y’all trying to undo/edit commits? Cause that seems like just bad practice to me. If so, why aren’t you just squash merging? Maybe I’m missing something here.

Maybe I just don’t get it, but seems to me, using email to submit patches, and using an email client to correspond with other developers is a massive step backwards in terms of UX.

Perhaps once I set up my email client “properly” I’ll love this flow too. But I’m highly skeptical that all hopping between different programs and CLI tools is a better UX.

Time to try on #sourcehut and see for myself. 🫡

@drewdevault 🔥As a nvim user myself, aerc is HOT! However, I don’t see being able to convince my team to adopt this. I love using CLI, but lots of devs these days minimize their exposure to it. Will Sourcehut have a UI interface that can replace aerc? Cause that would be best if we never have to leave the web UI to manage the project.

I am going to check out aerc for non-git use tho, looks sweet 😍
