Recently discovered I’m going grey at the temples. Took a while to notice a) in dirty blond hair that b) I don’t scrutinize closely in the mirror at the best of times.

I say it’s from stress.
My wife says it’s from getting old.
It’s disagreements like this that help keep a marriage vivacious.

So I disagreed with someone’s assertion on a thread. Explained my point.
The reply informed me I’m completely wrong, zero validity to my point, and not to argue with him.
… then I guess he blocked me, or… somehow made it so I can’t reply to the post any longer? Not sure, as I’ve been online since the BBS days and never experienced that before.

Just insist you’re right and remove anyone who disagrees with you from the discussion?

I guess whatever makes you feel like you’ve won. 🤷‍♂️

I think any Maple Leafs fans who had delusions of blowing through the Panthers just because they aren’t Boston had a wake-up call last night.

As a friend pointed out, Boston set some all-time high NHL records this year. And Florida beat THEM. So any Leafs fans who thought this series would be easier than playing Boston is learning that lesson the hard way.

We switched phone carriers a few days ago to a way more cost-efficient but still practical option (same data limit and speed and area coverage we previously had but for upwards of 30% cheaper than the lowest price our previous carrier told us was the lowest they could go).

Now I’m getting calls from the previous carrier. Haven’t bothered answering yet to explain the change and have them maybe pitch an equal offer, because we moved based on what they had told us.

A friend who works at an animation production house recently asked if he could run a show idea by me he wants to pitch to the company.

I said sure.
Got it.
Read it the same day.
Gave him some notes.

Then I asked if I could run a few show ideas by him.

He said sure.

I sent it all two days ago.

So far, crickets.

I continue to be confused about how mandy.com is considered the go-to for connecting entertainment industry production with people who suit the roles.

Well before the WGA strike, I discovered that writers are considered a crew position. That’s literally the category you need to search for writing work. That’s truly bizarre.

And now that the strike is on, a friend sent me a link there for remote-allowing writing work in the UK. But trying to apply gets weird.

Not sure if people are just giving fewer shits about what they're doing, or if I'm getting more crotchety in my middle age.

I was in one of two lanes of traffic headed in one direction, and a car half a length ahead of me signaled to come over. I couldn't make it past it, so I backed away to let it in. But it didn't come in. Even with my waving it in.
I finally just gave up and left him behind.

Similar situation with a different car less than a minute later...

The problematic cost of our ISP came up again tonight.

I verified with a couple of speed checks that were getting download speeds of about 20X slower than the “up to” 1 Gbps we’re paying for. Yet still make it work.

Sadly, this company doesn’t offer much of a price reduction for way slower service caps. But others do. (1/3 the speed cap for 1/3 the current price? What a crazy idea!) So I’m pretty sure there’s a new ISP in our near future.

Fair point, given how big a deal the Super Bowl is.

I was reminded how much bigger the Grey Cup is. And also how it’s almost 60 years older than the Lombardi.

Does anyone use a wireless charging pad that you’ve done any troubleshooting with?

I have a Nanami Fast Charging pad that has worked no problem the maybe dozen times I’ve used it, but last night my phone kept waking up more than once a per minute when charging on the pad.

Any ideas how to solve the issue?

Not a desperate problem, as I’ve gotten by for decades by just plugging my phones into a charging cable. But it’s a weird issue and the wireless pad would be nice to use if possible.

Extremely light stuff, mostly blogs with some photo galleries included. No heavy lifting or streaming needs.

I’m currently with A2, have been for a year (or two?) but just got hit for some huge, erroneous charge for way, WAY more than I need.

I’m talking with them to remedy that, but in case there’s no practical option, I need to find it a new home fast.
