Franchement, le podcast est pas mal mais ça se voit que c'est un ex adepte du Bouddhisme Tibétain et un énorme fan du Dalai-Lama derrière, certaines parties sont objectives sans aucun doute, d'autres le sont beaucoup moins et puis ça termine sur une lecture de l'événement qui rate le principal.

Is the AT Protocol - in what it can do already, or in the short term will be able to do - better than ActivityPub that is behind Mastodon?

I can find nothing decent that explains this in layperson's terms…

breaking news : nobody owns money, not even your cold wallet monero or bitcoin, the demonstration with NFT's is the latest example that not even the best backed crypto are safe from total devaluation, even if we "own" the cold data in our own pockets.

We're not spared from these assets becoming nothingness in the blink of an eye. it's all built ont thin air

same for fiat, yup, that's not a contest, it's just the reality we're in.

about your final thought : that's a judgment without having a clue of the other side reality.

My case: I don't have money I can risk either on bitcoin or any other crypto, the only value I have (that do get stolen from me with inflation) is the value I, we, operate in, with.

we don't all have the luxury to "own" bitcoin or monero.

poor people (below poverty line, which I am) don't have the same access to technology, thus the demonstration of that.

@adam micro payment have been at work all across the global South for several decades now, there is no issue with fractioning a dollar or a euro but technological friction to allow it.

we could have a wallet that transform fiat money into credit and pay with "credit" fraction of value from money/value we actually have.

It's a technical issue not the absence of possibility to do so if we'd wanted it.

bitcoin has middle men's too, I must use one just to get 1 bitcoin for instance.
