Śledzika po kaszubsku 🐟 🖤 💛

Zacząłem sporo wcześniej, ale zapomniałem, że mi "sos" czy "kaszubski wkład" stygł na balkonie 😉

Pierwszy raz po kaszubsku, zazwyczaj robię w oleju z cebulką i ogórasem. Więc ocena jutro, bo musi się "przegryźć" w lodówce.

Sos kaszubski wyszedł pyszny!
Zrobiłem nieco ostrzejszy, z ostrą papryką, a nie tylko słodką, oraz z rodzynkami, dla złamania kwaśności octu w "zalewie" czy tam "sosie" 👨‍🍳

@alberto_cottica so, digital services are "incompatible-by-default" within the same market, if that makes sense. It's easier to build them in an incompatible way than it is to build them in mutually compatible way.

Whereas physical objects have to be compatible with our human interfaces, if that makes sense, to even be on a market. So it's difficult to make a "walled-garden beer glass" or a "walled-garden plate." It's possible! But it's more work than not.

@alberto_cottica @pluralistic oh sure, and we have examples of attempts of building "walled-garden" physical products, like DRM in coffee machine pods!

But it is additional work to do so as opposed to building a coffee machine taking just beans.

With regards to digital services, it's the opposite. It takes more work to build a product/service that is compatible with its competition. Unless a given protocol (say, SMTP) is already widely deployed.

Does that make sense?

@alberto_cottica I kinda feel I need to gather this and finally blog about this, as it's been rattling around my skull for a long while, to be honest.

And of course an important part of the solution is the same as it was with making sure different bakeries are actually compatible with "human interfaces" and do not poison people: regulation.

@KerryMitchell but the basic shared standards in the world of bread are literally baked in. Bread needs to be edible and somewhat tasty. Making such a bread that at the same time somehow creates a walled garden with high switching costs is difficult.

Shared standards in the digital world have to be built in explicitly. That's more work than not doing so. Which is the point I am making.

It's not about the product itself being simple or not.

@KerryMitchell I'm sorry but you are completely missing my point.

It's not about scarcity, artificial or otherwise.

It's about being able to switch your supplier / vendor. And about how easy / hard it is to make that switch costly or difficult or annoying to the user.

It's way easier to make that switch costly or difficult or annoying in case of everyday digital services, than in case of everyday physical products.

Maybe I'm not making myself clear enough. But we're getting nowhere it seems.

@KerryMitchell people are so tied to Twitter that they cannot make themselves leave even now.

People are so tied to Facebook that when Facebook does something dumb/dangerous, they create Facebook groups to complain.

Vendor lock-in is real in digital services, and it is insanely strong. One cannot switch between walled gardens without losing the basic service of staying in touch with people there.

But you could find a different bakery and not lose the ability to get the basic product — bread.

Ewa strasznie się złościła, że Maja ma wywalone na sprzątanie w swoim pokoju. Namówiłem, żeby przestała sprzątać za nią. Od wtorku trzymała się dzielnie. Dzisiaj Maja wzięła się za sprzątanie, czyli ogarnęła się w 3 dni. Uważam, że to szybko, jak na szesnastolatkę. Ale powaliło mnie, jak usłyszałem "Mamo, podziwiam Cię, że przechodziłaś przez ten pokój i się nie porzygałaś."

@jaczad mam podobną historię rodzinną z paroletnim mną i niechęcią do jedzenia. Jak wyjechałem na wakacje, gdzie był określony czas jedzenia, a do następnego posiłku jedzenia nie ma, szybko się okazało, że jednak wcale nie jestem takim niejadkiem.

@piotrsikora @jaczad nie mówię, że to rozwiązanie wszystkich problemów. Mówię, że zadziałało w moim przypadku, bo okazało się, że nie jadłem posiłków w porze posiłków, ponieważ zawsze była jakaś kanapka czy coś pomiędzy.

Po co ta bajera? By wyciągnąć pieniądze od inwestorów, a jednocześnie odwrócić uwagę od realnych problemów z wielkimi modelami językowymi (LLM) i szkód przez nie wyrządzanych już dziś.

Oraz by nikt nie pomyślał pytać, kto je kontroluje, i jaką władzę mu to daje.

Dzisiaj na całkiem obszerny wpis o , czyli narzędziu do , ale dla mniej technicznych lub technicznych, ale leniwych 😁
Omówiłem czym jest to narzędzie, jak je zainstalować na serwerze (lub dowolnym innym z Debianem), jak przeprowadzić podstawową konfigurację i zrobić kopię zapasową. Taki poradnik bazowy, wystarczający do rozpoczęcia przygody z tym środowiskiem 😉
