Crikey! Just checked back on my Olive oil purchases and in 2019 I bought an Elea Creta Extra Virgin Greek Olive Oil 5lt Tin can for £34.45 and the same item is currently £61.95. Olive oil has gone through the roof.

Hmmm, @cloudflare are depreciating auto minify in August because of dropping amount of usage - “since minification is included in most modern web development frameworks.”

So my carefully crafted hand built sites on Cloudflare will be slightly slower because they don’t use a ‘modern web development framework’.

SEO folk are going to rave about @screamingfrog Spider v20 having Chat GPT to write image alt tags (I'm interested in that but lets see how good it actually is at providing correct accessible alt text and not SEO alt text) but for me the biggie is the N-grams Analysis!
(and also the carbon footprint appeal's to my eco warrior side).

Idea for an email client extension.

Set a time limit to finish and send an email. If you go over that time a scream starts in the background - really subtle at first but gets progressively louder and higher until you send the email.

Cool - that got sorted quickly! Perhaps an issue at Google because the only thing I did was press the button to say it was fixed for them to validate the issue. I did nothing to the site.

All sorts of nonsense going on with a site over the past week. Have a news story on a page that Google Search console is telling me is invalid AMP - tested it on https://validator.ampproject.org/and the code is valid. There are hundreds of posts on this site and has never happened before and the 4 posts following it are ok.

Then three news posts later Google decides to not index a new post because it disagrees with the canonical and chooses a post from 2018! They are completely different!

Excitement at #brightonseo as I walk into the venue this morning and get scanned by the girls they say “oh another Simon Cox”.

This is bad news for me as I can’t get into the serps top 10 with my name anymore as there are more famous me’s out there now. If one of them is easing into my #seo territory there may be a scuffle.
