Zipper mesh A5 bags ordered for cable management. Ziploc gallon bags work well for the older stuff but I want some bags to set next to my chair color coded for Lightning or USB-C to USB-C.

Previously I had hooks hanging off the smaller end table and that worked but it always became a tangled mess. Now the mess that be contained within the zipper bags.

@christianselig the answer was no, of course Steve, 30% larger is a dumb idea hahaha. How do you keep yours from sliding off the back? I guess I need to go into fusion and just extend the wings width and make it deeper with a taller back lip?

@steveriggins@mastodon.social avatar

@christianselig does your Pringle set flat or at a tilt? Mine went on as a tile so the headset slides off the back heh maybe the dowel just sat wrong?

steveriggins,
@steveriggins@mastodon.social avatar

@christianselig ah ok so yours sits level and doesn’t slide I’d assume of course. The slightest touch and mine slides down the back and off

@christianselig As a brand new 3D printer person (two prints!) I was looking at your files. PrusaSlicer does not like the 3mf at all, so I opened the stl for the pringle. Is this how you meant to print it? If I have it flat, the supports underneath are a massive amount heh

steveriggins,
@steveriggins@mastodon.social avatar

@heckj @christianselig that’s super frustrating if they took Prusa’s stuff, changed it and kept the same file extension. This stuff should be standardized or just be real and make a bespoke format.

steveriggins,
@steveriggins@mastodon.social avatar

@christianselig @heckj so when I opened the STL with fusion, it made the model 1400mm wide haha. I was so confused. My friend had me import the stl as a mesh into a new document and it came over fine. In the end, I didn’t need to adjust it, so I just used PrusaSlicer.

steveriggins,
@steveriggins@mastodon.social avatar

@christianselig @heckj I was going to print the dowel in this pretty galaxy black (what a contrast!) but my friend said that vertical dowels are less strong and horizontal dowels come out looking like junk. I just don’t want to paint or stain, that’s why I got this printer hahahaha

steveriggins,
@steveriggins@mastodon.social avatar

@christianselig if I do who what? Haha I went with a dowel. And then someone rear ended me at Home Depot. Can I print a new bumper? Hahah (everyone is fine, just funny how much this Vision Pro has cost)

@steveriggins@mastodon.social avatar

@christianselig i changed it to 50% infill and 5 walls it’s a baton but my printer is skipping walls on some layers for some reason. That’s a prusa issue I presume.

Thanks for all of the info! I ran my battery down to 10% on Vision Pro but I knew because I had a massive battery on the ceiling lol. (I ran it down usinng Juno for hours watching tutorials)

@steveriggins@mastodon.social avatar

@siracusa do you think that one reason the battery has no data is because every battery would require a more expensive thunderbolt port? Otherwise the signals would only be corrected at the headset, adding length. Either way it would I guess. The developer strap reduces that extra length of ootential signal interference

@christianselig You cost me $1300. Thanks, buddy. Your Vision Pro stand was the straw that pushed me to buy a Prusa Mk4 😂

@joshua @omich @christianselig I want to know also. I just bought a caliper and plan to make a capsule for carrying one thin mint in my pocket

New story: Apple tells me it has done more testing of iPhone 15 batteries and found they have a longer lifespan than initially thought. https://9to5mac.com/2024/02/20/iphone-15-battery-lifescyle-span/

steveriggins,

@ChanceHMiller my 15 pro max is six months old and at 95% maximum life because I keep it on a qi charger mount and use optimized charging. Oh well.

@siracusa did anyone ping you about the Vision Pro scrubber yet? It’s the scroll thumb but larger. You can grab it and just move your fingers up and down to scroll continuously, the greater the angle the faster the scroll.

Well this is fun! I finally got my Apple Vision Pro in Glasgow, but it turns out it's not actually my Apple Vision Pro.

It's in the right box, but it's a 256GB model, not a 512GB, and the serial number of the device doesn't match my order. I have to assume that the store in San Francisco mixed up devices when they were packing them. And somebody in SF got a free upgrade to a 512GB one.

I suspect they would say “just bring it back”, but that's kinda hard now that I'm 5,000 miles away. Fuck.

steveriggins,
@steveriggins@mastodon.social avatar

@jamesthomson nice. I bought the 512 and tell me if you run out of space so I feel better about my purchase thanks ahead of time mate hahahahahha

Finally, the transition to Xcode 15 is done.

I’d love to have some Apple engineers sit in on the next one. My first Xcode 15 related commit was October 3, 2023.

I wonder if Meta sells data from your Quest sessions and uses that to make the product cheaper?
