I kinda love how Waze is basically a "snitch out the cops, reveal all their secret hiding spots for expensive speed traps" app that's scarily accurate and useful on long road trips. I wonder when the police unions are going to go after Google for that.

Anyone got a good recommendation for a standing desk VESA mount, that's not a $250+ Ergotron LX Tall? The Amazon Basics Ergotron white label that I was planning to use is pretty great but needs to go up 6-9" more for proper positioning.

@rmondello I have yet to use a passkey anywhere in a serious way. I set one up at Best Buy but it only works with their website and never fills in the email address. ☹️

Seems like the best time to build a gaming PC in years. Don't think any components (short of the 4000 series Nvidia cards, which ever at MSRP are terrible values) are hard to get or overpriced. AMD 5000/7000 series or Intel 13th gen. are all good, hard to make a bad CPU choice. RAM/SSDs are dirt cheap.

@paul i am getting an expensive box because I am tired of building my own components and dealing with vendors individually, but it will be a 13700k with 4090 and hopefully not burn out lol. Comes with three years warranty, lifetime support and a year of overnight mailing, though they are only 5 hours away 😎

Anyone’s iOS devices keep autocorrecting “well” to “We’ll” even after resetting the keyboard on 100% of instances? It’s so frustrating. And if I keep writing for more context, it won’t go back to fix itself still. Ugh.

I am not great at mandolin, but I like it, and I could be. I have never seen a collection of vintage ones like I did in Nashville. Other guitars too. Lots of old acoustic Gibsons in good shape. It’s pretty wild.

It seems to be the case that I have aphantasia. I am unable to conjure an actual visual-ish mental image at will.

I can "see" what I'm thinking about, but it's in a different space -- it's not visual. Not easy to explain. My dreams are very vivid and movie-like. It seems to be an inability to conjure images at will.

I'm disappointed to learn that I lack this seemingly amazing ability that most people have.
