So, if Apple outsources AI to Open AI, or Google, or whatever, do they sidestep having to count that energy consumption in their Apple 2030 initiative reports?
Lots of arguments still raging about that Apple ad. Some claiming things have changed. Apple is too big now. It would have got away with it if it wasn’t for those pesky kids*.
But now imagine Apple swapped out its cool (for the day) iPod ads for one in which an amazing record and CD collection, along with vintage players, are destroyed by a soulless crusher, before an iPod is revealed. I don’t imagine people would have been cheering about that either.
@molly0xfff I do not consume their content but I do thank them for causing the word “precarity” to enter my vocabulary, which macOS spell check doesn't know is a word.
A big new iPad Pro with the new keyboard would be great but I checked and it’s $1848 which is $500+ more than a new 15” MacBook Air, and I didn’t see any mention of MagSafe charging being added to iPads.
If Apple made a home dock wireless charger/holder like the Google tablets have, I’d buy one for the kitchen counter as a family Apple Home controller/recipe lookup screen that is always charged and ready to play tv/movies when undocked.
@matthewcassinelli yeah agreed. I was teach regular people who belong to our user group and are not power users at all. Most of my classes are simply informative so people are less skiddish about trying something out that they don’t understand.
It's shocking how much more usable Chrome is, now that they finally fixed erratic ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED errors.
I can't believe this took them 5 months to finally get around to fix.
Here’s your AI astonishment/nightmare fuel for today:
