More than one-third of millennials believe they won’t get a dime of Social Security when they retire, so they’re taking matters into their own hands (creditnews.com)

Of all generational cohorts, older millennials are most likely to generate enough income to retire comfortably, according to the latest Vanguard Retirement Readiness report....

stolid_agnostic,

That was my take away. If you earn a lot of money you can fund a good retirement.

The only other real argument I found was that millennials in general may be better off because they entered the workplace when these retirement plans activate automatically whereas boomers and gen x had to actively sign up for them.

stolid_agnostic,

The problem is that he has decades of his and his family’s businesses being founded and run in New York. It’s only over the past couple years that he’s trying to get out. For a competent person this would be a long and difficult task taking years. If you’re an idiot who can’t get a lawyer, you’re screwed.

Judge is probably more trying to keep him from moving cash and valuable objects or making bank transfers. In the meantime, all his businesses and properties will be sold off

Elon Musk's Twitter takeover being probed by SEC (www.reuters.com)

The investigation — which escalates a long-running feud between the SEC and Musk — concerns whether Musk broke federal securities laws in 2022 when he bought stock in Twitter, which Musk renamed X, as well as statements and SEC filings he made in relation to the deal....

stolid_agnostic,

lol it’s going to come out that all that money came from Russia, Iran, and Saudi Arabia

stolid_agnostic,

lol lol let me suck up this salmonella sample real fast

stolid_agnostic,

Basically it took many years before someone developed something that could be run with a trigger or button. Before that you used a vacuum (your mouth) to pull liquid into a pipette. Heard an older chemistry professor talk about a colleague who years before swallowed a salmonella sample by accident. A lot of people surely got hurt this way.

America's nonreligious are a growing, diverse phenomenon. They really don't like organized religion (apnews.com)

Mike Dulak grew up Catholic in Southern California, but by his teen years, he began skipping Mass and driving straight to the shore to play guitar, watch the waves and enjoy the beauty of the morning. “And it felt more spiritual than any time I set foot in a church,” he recalled....

stolid_agnostic,

This is a question of attrition. Religiosity is dying out and so, in a sense, is neo-conservativism, and that’s why there is such a huge push to the right in many parts of the world. It’s the last desperate gasp of people who know that their time is up. They are doing everything they can to stop it from happening but it’s inevitable.

stolid_agnostic,

lol people are def nicer here. This guy just misses his little friends.

stolid_agnostic,

Yeah this is basically like reddit prior to the DIGG migration. People are much nicer here.

stolid_agnostic,

The only toxic I got was when I accidental posted in a conservative thread without realizing what it was. Basically like /r/conservative. Fortunately I was able to block the instance and move on.

stolid_agnostic,

Also 15 year account and 100% agreed.

stolid_agnostic,

(Sniff) oh yeah. our farts smell so good

stolid_agnostic,

I get the joke now, thanks.

stolid_agnostic,

Because food preferences are now memes.

stolid_agnostic,

People get angry with me for saying that oatmeal raisin is better than chocolate chip.

stolid_agnostic,

Wait does it bother you to find raisins in food?

stolid_agnostic,

And they should be dry well before touching pizza to avoid sogginess.

stolid_agnostic,

Today I learned that this thread is real and not a meme. I honestly thought people were joking about raisins in Mac n cheese.

stolid_agnostic,

In my observation, if it comes from a box, it’ll be simple. If it’s made from scratch then people go more gourmet.

Probiotic bacterium kills preterm infant; FDA blasts supplement maker (arstechnica.com)

A spokesperson for the company responded to CBS News, however, saying that Infinant Health is planning to continue distributing its “Evivo powder product” for consumers to buy and intends “to work with the FDA toward approval of the use of our MCT oil product in hospital settings.”

stolid_agnostic,

It’s well known that infants should never have honey for this reason. Why on earth would you purposefully expose them to this orally?

stolid_agnostic,

Daily reminder that the Democrats are a center/center-left party, not liberal.
