Is there a free/ color picker for Mac that lives in the menubar and provides quick access to last swatches like this?

ColorSlurp went freemium. I'm not subscribing to a color picker, sorry. I'd pay an one-time fee.

Pikka and Sip did the same, ColorSnapper is abandoned.

Can Final Cut Pro 2 for iPad round-trip with on Mac now? I'd look it up but their own documentation is outdated (1.3)

I think #AI is at the stage where electricity was in the late 1800s. Tons of incompatible standards run by unregulated companies, people electrocuting themselves at their homes, and promises of electricity as the ultimate cure-all.

It has tremendous potential for the future but it absolutely has to be strongly regulated, and the worst excesses curbed.

Mimic anything? No problem. Actually do something that comprises several steps? ALWAYS fails. In 100% of cases.

@TheServitor @GrantMeStrength yes but that's not the promise of the current AI hype, is it. I'm very curious what Copilot+ and all the AI stuff in Windows will ACTUALLY do. Right now it's all either statistical mimicking of already existing stuff, or bullding block toys for programmers. The moment you want something concrete, it all fails.

Seriously just Face ID in landscape and its speed is worth the price of admission. I would gladly keep my M1 Pro for years and years but after my 4yo bent it and my subsequent attempts at straightening it kind of fucked up the display I'm glad I didn't pinch pennies and opted for the latest.

Where are custom keyboard command sets stored? I deleted FCP as I the SFX folder isn't anywhere on my Mac, but forgot to export my command set before deleting the app. Luckily I have a time machine backup, so if I would know where the command sets are stored I could find them! 😅

My dear friend Adam has long covid with me/cfs and now even his fucking Macbook has it!

His lasts like two hours tops of just browsing the web while my exact same 14" 2021 MBP easily does 3x or 4x as much. In fact I was exporting a 40m FCPX timeline yesterday and it only took like 9 % of battery, while taking 98 % of GPU.

This is a fairly typical 40m drama. Much, much less complex timeline with not nearly as many elements.

I'm not talking about storyline development or generally the amount of thought that goes into the edit. Just the sheer amount of technical complexity.

Kiddie shows are complex, underpaid and underappreciated.

Kiddie TV shows are usually much more complex than your usual dramas. This is one of the less complex 13m timelines.

FCPX has generally much tidier timelines because audio tracks are collapsed into a single clip, usually the video clip itself. This would look bonkers in Avid.

peeps, how would you somehow mark or make a list of clips on the timeline that have some sort of transform (scale), stabilization and/or a specific effect applied?

I have to do a conform in Resolve from graded clips and would like to save some time, not having to check each clip for these adjustments.

The new #Sonos app is getting even worse! After the last update, the local Music Library takes like 5 seconds after launch to even appear, and then AFTER YOU PLAY SOMETHING, IT DISAPPEARS ALTOGETHER.
