I don’t see it that way. There are separate options to Favourite or Bookmark a post. To me Bookmarking something is so you can refer to it later, although nothing is stopping you using Favourites that way.
So I’ve been tweaking my Steamdeck settings and whilst I don’t consider myself a total noob to this…I’m legitimately not sure what the difference is between the two, or which is more important to the overall smoothness of the game I’m playing.
I put this build together and am now looking for some opinions and advice before I buy the components. Any components that you would change or spend less on?...
Dark Reader is one of my must haves. Turns dark mode on for every site. If a particular site already has its own native dark mode you can turn the extension off for just that site. Not perfect in all cases but works beautifully for most pages you view.
EDIT: Tap To Tab is really good if you are using a laptop without a mouse. Just double tap the trackpad to open a link in a new tab.
I'm outta the loop on why there's all these "rule" posts on the Fediverse. But there isn't an OutOfTheLoop magazine I can submit the question to. So, I am gonna try out this microblog thing. Anyone can fill me in?
It’s from the r/196 subreddit. The rule is that you must post before you leave so people often label their post “Rule”. 196 is the equivalent community on Lemmy.
As Lemmy starts maturing, there starts being so many communities out there that it’s pretty hard to keep track. I’ve been browsing for about a month now, here’s a list of popular communities I’ve subscribed to that others would find interesting!...
Why YSK: Beehaw defederated from Lemmy.World and Sh.itjust.works effectively shadowbanning anyone from those instances. You will not be able to interact with their users or posts.
When there was an influx of users during the Reddit blackout, they said that they were getting lots of trolls and they couldn’t keep up with the moderation. Lemmy.world and Sh.itjust.works had the most traffic and were letting people sign up without vetting so the Beehaw admins decided to defederate those communities.
We’ll give the upgrade new try tomorrow. I’ve had some good input from admins of other instances, which are also gonna help troubleshoot during/after the upgrade....
Imagine pre-ordering a digital game. It would be wiser to wait for release and read some reviews before you purchase. 3 songs? I can live without them.

I joined one instance and subscribed to a community, but that instance was having technical problems, so I joined another instance, but I cannot find that same...
I'm not a Catholic, or Christian, or any other religion, but the dude should retire. His health is not good. Benedict XVI set a precedent for papal retirement and maybe it's time to take advantage of that. Pope John Paul II was basically a vegetable for the last years of his papacy. There's no need to repeat that.
I made a post to funny@Lemmy.world, then in another tab I subscribed to science@lemmy.ml. Back in the tab I made the post in, the page updated itself to look like I made the post in science@lemmy.ml instead. I didn't refresh the page or do anything else... It just changed by itself.
Maybe this is unpopular but I'm getting tired of opening lemmy and having to scroll past the same post that I have viewed already, half of the posts on the front page are 2 or 3 days old.
I was thinking the same thing. I've been using the filters to go to New and Hot and other things but when someone comes to the front page they shouldn't keep seeing the same posts for many hours or even days. I remember years ago on Reddit they altered the algorithm so that newer posts would show up more frequently on the front page and it was a massive improvement.
