Me: is this legitimate? I’m not expecting anything. Security training tells me not to open such things or enter personal data. Smells phishy, I’ll ask HR.

This is the first section of my trip. The hotel staff I’m in are letting me keep my big bag in the luggage store for a few days so I can travel way lighter, which is really nice of them.

Hmm. They’ve sent me a white keyboard. My MacBook is grey and my mouse is black but OK.

Problem is that’s there’s very little to distinguish work keyboard from personal keyboard. Personal has UK layout (£ key, full size Return), work has US layout (ridiculous single row Return key).

I can see myself typing with the wrong one half the time, and cursing that my paragraphs are all \\s the rest of the time.

I got my shoelace trapped in the barstool I was sat on and this did not look cool in front of the nice barman who lives just around the corner from me and is studying German and music while working two nights a week in my local bar and was very happy to talk with us while he was washing glasses which is as he pointed out the most important role in a bar and had lovely eyes.

I’m off to bed.
