Wherever I find right-wing violence, I find journalists getting attacked. Their hatred of journalism stems from a hatred of facts; they prefer information come from authority than reporting.
If they had their way, journalism as a profession would be gone except for the propagandists who lie on their behalf. (which is not journalism anyway)
In my town, no one wants to cover events organized by socialists. But, since I've done a few of these, I've found a lot of unique and interesting perspectives that aren't found anywhere else. Here's my latest event recap thingy:
By the way, just an fyi, if you are a conservative of any kind, you're getting blocked. No explanation, no warning, no second chance. If you follow this pathetic excuse of a shit show and want to see more of it, you're a fucking awful person. I want nothing to do with you at all. Go anywhere else, please.
Reading about the Murdoch family and the collapse of Fox News, it's like....what are these people even thinking? They've lost all perspective. Not a single moment of self-reflection from any of them.
Another element of Fox News that's troubling is...they tell such obvious lies that they can easily be seen through from anyone who does a moment of critical thinking. But, for a person who spent an exhausting 8 to 10 hours on the job, is just sitting on the couch, vegetating before sleep, turns the television on, thinking might be a bit more difficult.
Spending so much time at work instead of learning things has allowed Fox News to flourish.
I believe it corresponds with the works of Ludvig Von Mises, who was an Austrian economist / free market advocate. He was an intelligent person, but many of his idea led to right-wing reactionary nonsense in recent times.
Are you...just trying to be right and not trying to have a discussion?
I don't doubt that your experience and education gives you insight into this I don't have, but for you to assume I don't know anything and you know everything about a subject when we're only just typing at each other is fairly crass.
I am really getting tired of every online corporate platform turning to shit. It's getting to the point where, if the company is a corpo, they shouldn't be used just on general principle.
Totally. #IMGUR is infected with terrorist trolls now as well.
The community comments and interaction is so toxic I had to quit today.
I'm actually considering leaving all the Online communities including Mastodon in favor written journals. The #regression I've witnessed online because of #antisemitic opinions blasting Israel for Hamas declared Jihad is alarming and a sign of the current condition of #Humanity
@RememberUsAlways That doesn't surprise me. These people, they rile each other up on private forums, and then dogpile some things they don't like in some places. The companies in charge usually take very little action, if they aren't complicit themselves.
