The fact that both sides of the two party system band together to claim that the age and mental state of their candidates should not be a clear reason to exclude both canidates is insane to look at from the outside. How can the US still delude itself into being anything but a nuclearly armed corrupt oligarchy, when these two candidates is the “best” the nation has to offer? How can you still delude yourself into believing that this is not the result of an oligarchy that will never allow a candidate to actually bring the economic change necessary to protect the poor people and make the rich people contribute fairly to society?
One party is rapeing you from the front and the other party is rapeing you from behind and you argue about which way around it is better instead of seeing to end getting fucked over.
To keep it short the reason why some people are ok with authoritarianism is because most structures that we deal with on a daily basis are authoritarian....
I think we need to add the consideration, that representative systems put the blame on people, when in fact their actual influence is extremely limited.

But i also got quite annoyed with the main German communities shifting more and more to the right and the moderators of the largest german subreddit to tolerate and enable transphobic and racist discussions, e.g. when there was some tabloid “news” on either topic shared.
I dont know how much of it was because the communities were more and more targeted by organized far right propaganda and how much was the moderators of the /r/de subreddit sharing such viewpoints.
Those trends already happened for some years, getting particularly worse with covid.

Falls es dazu Forschung gibt, hat diese kaum ihren Weg in den Diskurs gefunden, bzw. über die Frage warum Männer härtere Urteile als Frauen erhalten findet einfach kaum öffentlicher Diskurs statt.

Iran is very much not happy with how Russia lets Israel bomb them in Syria. They most definetely dont trust Russia enough to take such a risk.
