@Patricia I didn't know there were any countries aside from Israel and the USA that didn't recognize the state of Palestine, I was so confused when I heard people praise Norway for considering to recognize it.
@dwarf That's a lot of days, especially given your work can be done from pretty much any place with a stable Internet connection. I've been able to stick to a strict no-office policy for a while now, I hope my company doesn't get more incompetent managers demanding my physical presence at a specific far-off location.
«Despite the privacy concerns, Microsoft says that the Recall index remains local and private on-device, encrypted in a way that is linked to a particular user's account. "Recall screenshots are only linked to a specific user profile and Recall does not share them with other users, make them available for Microsoft to view, or use them for targeting advertisements. Screenshots are only available to the person whose profile was used to sign in to the device," Microsoft says.»
Satya Nadella says Windows PCs will have a photographic memory feature called Recall that will remember and understand everything you do on your computer by taking constant screenshots. This is a great reason to ditch windows altogether. Switch to #Linux 🧑💻 They don’t care about your privacy or safety anymore and not hiding it either. @QuanZillan@aborigen "I'm keeping a list about proprietary companies on a proprietary company's platform. The company that owns the platform is one of companies you should avoid btw."
@aborigen Changing out one proprietary platform for another isn't the solution to the problem. Use free software for everything if you want to have any rights.
@f4grx@Viss@gsuberland@Quinnypig There never was a private company you could trust for that to begin with. If you want to have any control, you host your own solutions using completely free software.
@vl1 It only states the source code is going to be available, not that its going to be free software. Those two things are very different, and going by how they're not really giving out much info, I'm inclined to believe it's not going to be free.
@cnx@dwarf Canned food is great, it has a tremendous shelf life and they're mostly beans, the best vegetable! I have dozens of cans of beans and bags of rice in case I need some quick food, I can survive for months on this stuff
