Idk where the thing about fire came from, but yeah most explosives dont create fires. The explosions we see in movies are created by blowing up canisters of gasoline or other flammables. Explosive missiles just create a big fucking shockwave, but dont really contain anything that could burn for extended periods of time.

If there is a fire its usually from secondary things like gas pipes, electrical cables or other stuff that ignites easily.

Or ofcourse incendiary ammunition was used but dats an entirely different can of war worms.

I mean a tent city like that is probably full of flammable things, so yeah the missiles probably caused the fire. It doesnt matter if it was on purpose or not, lives were taken and they dont give a fuck and that is all you really need to know imo.

In the section about water:

The source of the “3 days” number likely comes from an experiment two scientists did in 1944 where they ate only dry food for a period of time; one ended the experiment at 3 days in, and the other at 4 days in. However since they stopped the experiment before being in any real danger, the actual survival time at room temperature likely exceeds 3-4 days.

The average person could probably still be saved after 5 days without water or more.

I think 3 days without water is too low but also heavily depends on your local climate.

I would agree, if the aspect ratio for those big phones was still 16:9, but its not. These long ass phones are made for doom scrolling.

Its like in most western countries in my experience.

If you go into a bar in any decent sized city, nobody will bat an eye no matter who you are or what you look like. Once you go to the countryside or into specific bars run by assholes, it gets less clear. Thats not to say all country side people are nazis, but just more conservative on average.

Also being able to speak the local language usually makes people accept you much quicker wherever you go in the world.

I mean the lists for this already exist because there are firefox plugins that do this and often these kinds are open source. This could surely be a case for crowdsourced / collaborative data.

The main dev made the last commit, so they dont have the right to make another commit, until they arent the last person to make a commit anymore (until someone else has made a commit). This makes sure that there are at least 2 people making commits but hopefully much more.

In other words, making a commit revokes your right to do so until someone else makes a commit.

I had to look at it quite a while, but now im pretty sure the rock is just perfectly facing away from the camera. Legs facing backwards and the wings pulled completely back ready for the next swing. Maybe there is some movement distortion but would be odd at that speed.

Yeah i actually had the same thought while writing the comment, but wanted to commit to the bit.

“hardworking contributors to society” automatically makes me feel yucky. usually the kind of people that uses words like that seriously, are the people profiting the most from capitalism.

From a natural point of view (without humans in the picture), bees are probably better at cooperation than wasps, which would make them better at “society” but im no biologist or philosopher so meh.

Maybe your understanding of “successfull” is twisted. Earning enough to not worry about money is all that you need to be successfull imo. But i guess many are not fortunate enough to have that.
