My poor Beanie baby had hives today. This was after her day at the spa… I mean vet. Her welts are still slightly visible. Knowing the provenance of dog allergies is harder to discover than knowing the mysteries surrounding the origin of the Sphinx.

    If you’re having fast bridge rebuild fantasies, remember that the 12-day miracle rebuild in PA last year was nothing like the Key Bridge collapse today. It’s like comparing a broken toe with a shattered leg. This is going to take a long time, and/or employ some novel temporary bridge tech.

    Disaster Preparedness Lesson for today: make sure to put some paper plates, napkins, and utensils in with your emergency supplies. (In my slow-motion-simulated-but-real-disaster, figured out it would be useful to have those to eat lunch with today at the house-undergoing-remodeling-found some scrounging through random corners my garage). #disasterpreparedness

    Yeahhhh it seems the snow model for today has fallen apart and the early school closures are just making people mad. (Not a problem for us but I think I’m an outlier.)

    @kevbob When I lived in Timber and went to Buxton Elementary, it took a LOT for schools to close. And roads along that bus route got very narrow with very steep dropoffs in some places. 😬
