I've had flu all weekend, so that's not been great. Especially as it means my wife's had to do most of the childcare by herself in that time. On the upside, lying in bed, sweating, and listening to podcasts through fever dreams has given me a few spectacular conspiracy theory ideas.

For some reason Americans decided to appropriate and celebrate a day that we in Mexico never truly celebrated. We commemorate which is not the same. May 5th 1862 was the Battle of Puebla, where the French tried to invade Mexico and Mexico won. Is not Independence day btw.
I guess Americans get confused cause they were fighting each other at the time cause some wanted to keep their slaves?

@ichbindabomb @64bithero I’ve been all over this country and I assure you that everyone is using it as an excuse to eat “Mexican” food and drink a lot. No matter what their leanings lol. Many of us do know what it is and isn’t and just like 2 for 1 Margaritas, okay!? 🤣😂

My son and I ran up to Indy over the weekend to catch an Indy Eleven match (soccer/football) and to meet up with our cousins we haven’t seen for a while. It was nice to be back home again in Indiana ;)

@cliffwade @protonmail @cliffwade With Gmail I was tired of being the product. Tired of the surveillance. The ads. The control.
ProtonMail wasn’t perfect in the beginning but it was enough. They rolled out new features fairly often and I support the mission. The safety and security of ProtonMail give me one less thing to worry about.

Guys, it’s happening! My daughter is becoming Mastodon-curious. She asked me if there was a server for D&D. I got to say yes, but also explain that you can follow anyone from any server. I got “ah ah ah, i see.”
