@ivory my timeline occasionally freezes up and doesn’t load new posts for hours at a time. Ivory is a great app, but this has become frequent for the past weeks or so. a couple of people on this instance have experienced the same issue. other apps load posts just fine, along with the website.

been a huge fan since Ivory was in its testflight days, it a shame that every now and then that i cannot use it.

retroarch sucks and is a cancer. someone should make a new cross-platform libretro interface that isn't a confusing mess filled with settings within settings.

it's a pain to set up, neither the xmb theme nor ozone theme make up for how all over the place it feels, and it's every persons go-to answer for what emulator you should use on your wii u or vita or 3ds or switch or whatever. it is NOT plug-and-play. shocker, i want my emulator to give me a fucking rom list and just work.

there are plenty of open source projects that utilize libretro well. OpenEmu is one of those projects! you drag the rom into the app and it organizes them into their respective sytems and downloads the cover art work for you. the only problem is that it's held back by being on macOS.

even the fucking doofuses who dev GNOME who've had their thumbs up their ass for the past few years with 40+ have managed to make a better interface for libretro.

in conclusion, i have the stupids and retroarch makes my brain feel claustrophobic :(

I tried the Vision Pro headset at the Apple Store today!

I had a little bit of fun with the headset, I kind of wish that you were allowed to dick around and free roam a little bit, it’s definitely very controlled in the way they have you experience it.

First they show you photos, some basic landscapes and panorama shots (all of which the presenter is more than happy to tell you was all shot on iPhone). They show you photos of children celebrating parties. Lots of day-to-day life stuff. Eventually, they have you adjust the digital crown to experience what the immersion mode is like— from Oregon (?) to the Moon— they show off basic web navigation and… they let you demo the fuckin Mario movie! In 3D! LOL. In between all this, they have you open some food service app…. very hamfisted in, definitely an ad. The last thing they have you experience is some video showing off some lady singing and some sports games and animals being cute or whatever.

On that note, they want you to buy one so bad. The person that was guiding me through it was bragging about how they sold an entire 20 yesterday. 20.

One of the specialists recognized me from last month when I was asking how much it would be in value to trade in my MacBook Air for a MacBook Pro, and today they told me that I should trade in my MacBook Air for the Vision Pro instead and I had to hold back sounding like a dick because I didn’t want to tell her that I would rather not trade in my entire fucking computer for something that only runs iPadOS level experiences

Over all— it was fun, but I don’t think i’d ever consider buying one at 3.5k. Get a quest lol.

• we're gonna make the best version of Super Mario World
• it's gonna have a map with a list of levels that lets you teleport around to different stages so you don't have to manually walk everywhere
• you're gonna be able to play as luigi, and he's gonna have his own seperate spirte, he's going to able to jump higher, spit fireballs differently, and control yoshi uniquely from mario
• there's more yoshi coins, when you collect them all, you get peach coins
• there's cut scenes that make the story feel more lively

and we're going to make all of these inprovements on the fucking gameboy advance, with shitty music, a horribly cropped camera, and annoying sound effects. also the colors are faded to compensate for the lack of back light
